The forum has seen much debate about our team since the season started.
There has been some positive comment and probably fair to say, much negative comment and a general unhappy sentiments from the fans.

That's fair enough but please consider this ...............

Liverpool manager has just stated that his team is not currently up to the standard as last years team.
Up until the weekend, Manchester United were being blasted by everyone and anyone for their performances.

Our beloved R'rsssssssssss in truth, haven't 'clicked' as yet and performances are either black or white.

Overview - Pool and MU have spent squillions more than us and will need time to settle down to a considered pattern of results.

Hey, were no different .............. we have more new first team players than not, yet, we expect them to click into action?
OK, admittedly, from all reports our games against Spurs and MU ........... we didn't show ............ Ok.
Possibly against Hull, were had a bit of a dig but still hadn't got the whole new team in by that stage, yes?

My point being .............. If Harry or anyone else goes out and buys more than half a first team, were seriously can't expect them to fire straight away, surely.
What's the point of having a pre-season if we go and buy a new team there after???????????

It's games like this weekend .............. Stoke at home.

We may have better players BUT .......... they probably have a more unified, settled team .............. so in truth, they should have the edge, even at our home.

So hopefully, our players, having had another week to 'click' will feel the passion that we fans feel every week ................ and have a go!
If we don't win this week, yes .............. we have every right to be peeved off and the rest.

Over to the players now, I say.

We didn't use pre-season unfortunately. We must start building teams earlier, getting the players fit earlier, and playing games at least against teams of our level. Then any late signings will be the icing on the cake not another basic ingredient to blend in.

We haven't 'clicked' for more than 2 games in a row for over 3 seasons.

Maybe we should of employed some finger-clicking flamenco dancers instead of Hoddle. Probably a better look!

Agree Oslo, but until we maintain a stable squad (part of the problem of yo-yoing clubs) it is difficult to have a constructive pre-season.

Blaming fitness of players is tough one, if we sign players who havent bothered to stay fit, is a sad indictment of the game.

Regarding pre-season, no excuses, the opposition we faced, even for a championship club, was nowhere near strong enough - we need to learn.

I do agree with you Aussie but we've been saying similar things since our first outing in the PL. When is the 'clicking' going to happen and we can start enjoying some half decent displays again? I have proposed the 'we need time argument' on many occasions but it is beginning to wear thin!

Sadly Aussie I think you are compairing apples with oranges. But I do think being positive is the way forward. We only need to string two games together lose a game and string another two together and we will be fine.

Well said Aussie, all valid points.

We need to stay positive and that loathed phrase "we will gel" will come true. The area that concerns me most is the lack of understanding amongst our defence, they need to be on the same wave-length to stop leaking goals. We can't rely on Green to stop everything.

Well said. Central to our humiliation on Sunday was the complete lack of coordination of our central midfield 3 in Niko, Sandro and Fer. It was clear the three am never played together and it really showed. However, surely Harry should have known this? Wouldn't it have made more sense to put Henry in the team who, although hasn't played with Fer, would at least be familiar with Niko and (vaguely) the back 2?

Sorry if I've completely missed the point of the OP. I wasn't sure whether we were meant to fill in the gaps or not.

Ain't that the truth! Thought he was at fault for a couple of the goals on Sunday. Might be worth giving McCarthy a go, we've got to do something to improve the psychology of the defence, particularly away

You're right of course. Both of you. All of you. Except for Queens. Who is always wrong. It is early on. We need time to bed in. We have been ****e. Bugger. only 34 games to prove someone wrong. Where the hell is DT? We need someone to say something controversial sometime soon. Redknapp out. But not yet. Where is Swords? Where is our ever changing cast of lynch mob suspects?

He certainly makes that height advantage count too - I'd like to see him given the opportunity to play, perhaps a rotation between the two of them would keep them on their toes.
