I really don't know how to word what I'd like to say.
I've lost a lot of loved ones to this terrible disease.

I just hope the man can beat it.

He gave us the runaround a couple of times over the years, very tricky player but massively inconsistent. I guess he just liked playing United.

I hope his recovery goes well and he's back on his feet in no time.

There's a rumour regarding Alan Pardew's treatment of him, not sure if there's any truth in it but if it is true, Pardew should be shot in the face in public.

I'm no fan of Pardew, but this rumour is taking things too far. It seems to have been started by some of our 'anti-everything' supporters looking at the argentinian press release and seeing the opportunity to have a cheap dig at Pardew. The translation of that interview says that Jonas went back to Newcastle after his latest treatment but then he was told to leave. I think its the case that he was told to go home and be with his family and that his contract would be honoured up until the end of the season. This would fit in on Smug's other thread about the idiots who take protesting too far. Anyone who would pick up on this as a chance to have a dig at Pardew (and I'm referring to the original rumour, not you Terry) ought to take a good look at themselves in the mirror. It is disrespectful to Jonas' bravery in deciding to go public to raise awareness, to anyone who has battled the disease and to anyone who has lost loved ones to this horrible disease.

I did take that one with a pinch of salt to be fair, the guy is a **** manager and a bit of a chopper but he doesn't seem that bad as a human being to do something like that.

I remember your MD being quoted a few years ago about Andy Carroll though, something along the lines of "They don't know how nasty we can be".

Can't recall that one myself - but there have been a lot so that's no surprise. I do think this is different though. The hierarchy have shown themselves to be ruthless from a business side of things, perfectly willing to shaft people if there was an opportunity in it (a bit like happened with Carroll). However, especially recently, they have also shown signs that they can act with a bit of dignity and compassion on the people side of things (people can make their own mind up on the motivation for that - I'll take it at face value).

If it did turn out that anyone at the club had acted in this way then they should be hounded out for bringing shame to the club. However, I suspect (and hope) that is what the original rumour was hoping for and that that is all there is to it.

Damn shame, will the ever be able find a cure for conditions like this?

Maybe if they sopped spending all the coin on nuclear weapons etc, and just wiped out the worlds threats once and for all, then just maybe, they could get back to spending on research, on what's important.
