http://talksport.com/football/exclu...ited-mauling-140915113724#uZ1RefXYtLWJheRT.99 Rodney Marsh fears Queens Park Rangers could be heading for relegation under Harry Redknapp this season. According to Marsh, his former club have not recruited well enough after winning promotion and are short on quality in all areas. The crushing defeat to Manchester United on Sunday was the second successive away game QPR have been hit for four. Speaking on Extra Time after the Old Trafford mauling, Marsh said. âI really fear that if they carry on playing that way then QPR could become a yo-yo team. âAt the start of the season I thought they had enough to stay up but in those two games against Spurs and Man United they looked dreadful. "They look like a team that is short all over the pitch." And Marsh admits he is unsure whether Redknapp can turn their fortunes around, despite rating the 67-year-old as a top manager. "Iâve been a friend of Harry Redknappâs for 25 years, going back to when he was a player at West Ham. I always give him the benefit of the doubt in any situation because it wasnât that long ago when he was taking Spurs from bottom to fourth place," continued the ex-England international. âHe clearly is a man that knows the game, he knows his football, and I think he is a terrific manager. But the big question is, can he get the best out of this group of players? "It seems to me that the answer, in the short term at least, is ânoâ. Iâm looking at some of the QPR players and they look like a bunch of rag tag players that have been thrown together in a team. They donât look like they know what they are doing, to be honest.â Read more at http://talksport.com/football/exclu...ited-mauling-140915113724#i5DqwICrUlLO2b7J.99
100% correct. We don't look anything close to being a team, Redknapp and TF have blown a fortune on players 'they have heard of' again and again and again. I'm sick of it, we're rightly the laughing stock of the league and this isn't hyperbole after two bad away embarrassments against good teams, this has been going on since the day Redknapp and his little black book of big names came through the door. TF has shown the man far too much respect from day one. An owner shouldn't be in awe of his manager.
At the moment, it's hard to disagree with what he says. That's not the first time I have heard Rodney have a pop at us. I heard one journalist on the Newstalk radio here last night describe us as "completely limited". Pat Nevin (ex Scum of course), described us as "totally useless". I would love us to ram those words down Nevin ' s throat by beating Chelsea. We need 3 points on Saturday to make us all feel better.
Marsh as a player....Absolute genius Marsh as a pundit or commentator is a complete f*kwit....! have you ever listened to his drivel? met him once many years ago and really got a jist of what this self centred bloke was like. make a living of his mate in open shows whilst living in Florida.? Sorry, loved him as a player, but cannot take anything he says seriously Same clown who was gonna eat his own hat isnt it..... http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/257320-Rodney-Marsh-eating-his-own-hat F-Off rod. let someone who knows what they are talking about get on with it. stick to the women and Whisky
Couldn't agree more! Listening to him on the Open All Rs live show podcast was borderline embarrassing.
wow thats a surprise, you criticizing someone who dares to question Arry the Messiah.....So presumably he should apply for the job as well then.....which part of his comments are inaccurate???
After seeing big part of last season and both away matches this season it is hard to totally disagree with him.
I totally disagree with him. I guess he knows more about football (or does he?) but I think we've got a good set of players but just need to get tactics right and get the best out of them. I think our best is yet to come. And we shouldn't have gotten rid of Simpson!!!!!!!
actually best news of the day....Do not rate Marsh as a pundit....(as A player my 3rd most favourite of all) If Marsh thinks we are pants then there is a small redeeming feature somewhere in our team for us to hang on too
apart from we've played two games at home (nearly 50% of our matches so far) where we were actually quite good. As he's completely dismissed those games, it's not a very balanced view.
We haven't looked good against two top sides away from home - we show them too much respect. But we looked OK against Hull (if in need of some confidence) and should have drawn that match... and we beat Sunderland. The team will improve. I'm looking for a strong rebound against Stoke on Saturday
I've met Marsh & he is, beyond any doubt, a self centred prick but I find to hard to disagree at this moment in time. I'm really concerned already & the seasons only just started!
Hoddle needs to start showing why we employed him, his teams always kept the ball well - let's see some if that away from home. Even if we are not doing anything with the ball, it means we're not under continuous pressure.
Win at Stoke and plenty of pundits will say we will be safe Lose against Stoke at home we are down I say enjoy your football
So he has to eat his own hat, Clean players boots and you still take him seriously Good luck. BTW, i didnt offer any other comments on what i believed (unlike you telling us what we shoulkd do) therefore i shall not be applying for a position that you so rightly know how to do.
Don't be concerned, we got beat by better teams. It's games like Stoke that we must win. If we don't, then were can get a bit crappy.
I don't agree with Marsh that we have not recruited good enough players. Agree we are short a striker but this Group ought to be good enough to compete against about 12 other teams in the PL and nick something occasionally against the top 7. Have to agree with his doubt that Arry can get the best out of them though. He has failed miserably for the last 18 months, so it is a huge doubt that he will start now, and one TF needed to adress before now, and with more than just Hoddle's appointment as coach.
