I always enjoy and agree with Amber Nectar's weekly blog, but this week's is a new high. If you haven't seen it yet, have a look http://www.ambernectar.org/blog/2014/09/things-we-think-we-think-153/ Mainly one for the proper fans this. I know full well the usual name changers will find something in there to moan about, but if there is any possibility they might one day stop being terrible people, reading this article would be the reason.
I get bored if it theae days. It used to be about football. Now it is just the same old bitterness. EA didn't sit in? So what. Perhaps he didn't want to. Can we talk about football please? A great team and great players and we have to be spoon fed this with some implied codswallop it is what we think? That's as bad a supposition as Allems?
They'll know who they are. But not booing your own is a prerequisite. As is liking Amber Nectar podcasts and blogs.
Can any pro changer answer me this one simple question question, without saying " Because Dr Allams done so much for our club ect" ? Q: What do you think changing our name will achieve ?
Don't bother, Kempton. I've asked the same question on several threads and no one has provided an answer. Not one.
Definitely not a pro name changer, but according to Assem Allam, it's worth £1m. That's what the sponsor was worth. Dinner money in the Premier League. Things we think has always been a good read, Amber Nectar is read religiously by myself and a lot of my friends.
Finally, a straight answer from someone regarding the benefits of a name change. Like you said, £1M is chump change these days in the Prem. It's hardly going to make the club self-sufficient in the long run, is it?
And that's the main reason for opposition to it. Allam can say it will benefit us as much as he wants... Prove it then. It's so simple. The deceit and embarrassing way of getting his point across is what's fueling the saga more and more. If he came out and said, "Right, we change our name to Hull Tigers, the Club will earn £x amount extra over the next x amount of Seasons". Then backs it up with solid evidence or at least a reliable prediction/estimate, it'd be easier to see the logic behind it. At the moment, all it seems like is that he wants to change our name for a sponsor that will pay enough money extra to buy a bottom half standard Championship player.
It's all rather messy. I reckon the chairman should make a statement to clarify the situation and clear the air.
my definition of a proper fan is someone who supports Hull City and cheers on Hull City - not someone who boos Hull City in support of Hull Tigers - aint difficult
I'm going to post this but I know I'm going to get abuse for it. Simply because it doesn't follow the standard POV. I'm sorry PLT but does the attitude in that second paragraph help? I mean the holiest than thou attitude (It's been clear that this is the view towards any anti CTWD viewpoint for ages) was probably one of the reasons for the booing (I mentioned this last night) on Thursday. Why not just post the link and leave it at that?
