Gerrard couldn't move by the end If he can't run FFs he can't play. Simple. If he starts v west ham we are going down a very very bad path indeed. You cannot go playing all these games in a row when you can't run
The first time the ball broke to us kindly in the box, Mario finishes it. Think of the one that fell to Hendo and then Lallana, neither quite fell kindly. Just got that little bit of luck when we needed it. For their goal, how can you concede in the 90th minute from 2 passes. We had 4 men upfront, Gerrard and Hendo were playing side by side so 1 pass behind them cut out our midfield. for a DM, Gerrard is a shocking defensive minded player. Doesn't get into the right positions to cut out danger like that.
I think our problem is more down to match fitness, system and the understanding of the system in play, I don't think anyone played badly as an individual even Mingo did well other than the obvious mistake.
Mings is my biggest problem. Makes too many mistakes and doesn't command his area, means the defence looks disorganised and unsure. Think we should be looking for someone new next summer, or hope Valdes comes in and is better.

I really dont think Sterlings best position is the 10 role, behind the strikers. Needs to be wide. Think thats why we are playing at a slower less attacking pace.
See I disagree Gerrards position was based on the fact that we were attacking and so yes it left us exposed but that was down to Sterling losing the ball. A foul imo. Gerrard swept up cut out passes and was fine all game.
He shouldnt play 2 times a week for 90 mins because I dont think he physically can. But I fully expect him to feature against Whu. For better or worse ....
