I was wondering if any of you would know about the train stops from london kings cross to Newcastle city centre Im travelling up by train for the swansea game later in the month and want to know if there are any stops that are close to the SOL I was planning on getting the metro from from NCC to the SOL via the metro, but this would mean im about 10/15 minutes late to the game, and as we all saw from the spurs game, a lot can happen in the first 10 minutes sometimes. Cheers!
i booked this train because it was 12.50 for a return! trainline have a big sale or something, trains at other times were looking at £40/£50 quid more
Yep, hop off at Durham and get a local, job sorted. You might even find that that's getting you in late as it's giving you a half hour wait or longer for connection on Metro, in reality, this is 5 mins. What time you into Newcastle?
Make sure which train you're on. The fast train only stops at York, Darlo and Newcastle. The slower train stops at Durham too.
If you got into Newcastle at 1430 mate you would be there for 3 easy enough, they are giving you too long a connection times, it's about 1 min from mainline platform to Metro.
Awesome. Good to know. I've been on the metro quite a bit but only once from Newcastle to Sunderland when I was 8 or something, couldn't remember how long it took
When you were 8 mate the Metro to Sunderland didn't exist! Newcastle to SOL is about 20 mins, you'd just about make kick off, worth checking the Durham option if your mainline train stops there, but I'd imagine a bus from Durham takes longer, and Durham to Newcastle is only 10 mins or so.
Yeh if he got off the train in Durham even at 1345 he would not get to the ground in time for kick off. It's about 25 mins on bus from Durham to park lane then there's the walk to the ground.i think if you arrive at newcastle at 1400 then quick change onto metro to sol that's best option
I'm not sure if you're starting off at King's Cross or not, but if you are, there's a direct line to Sunderland Jammy.
No idea mate. I commute into KC everyday and I usually see the Central Line service to gods own country on a nearby platform. It doesn't seem to have that many stops, it's direct into the town centre, and only 10 minutes walk to the stadium, so it might be worth checking out. Just an idea anyway.
4hrs 6mins according to this. http://www.thetrainline.com/buytick...GX/SUN/16/09/14/22/45/Dep//////Dep/1/0//0;0;0 2 changes though.
