Anybody know why he wasn't playing last night? Noticed there was no Aluko either. Does this mean that Brucey has his preferred attacking options now? I'd have thought Ince was versatile enough to warrant a place on the bench, especially given how much we courted him over the Summer.
I thought that was strange as well, especially as he brought Brady on who I would have thought was further down the pecking order than these 2 now.
I was thinking about that and wondered if ince might feel he has made an error joining ,he did say before we did the transfer deadline that we did not need any front men as they could score the goals needed maybe he felt then his place may be threatened and game time would be a lot less.
I reckon Ince, Aluko and Sagbo won't get a look in until our Capital One tie against West Brom (barring injuries that is). Although Ben Arfa is ineligible on Saturday so maybe there is space on the bench for one of them on Saturday?
Aluko wasn't even back in the country on Friday when SB gave his presser, so I guess that was the main reason for him not in the frame. With Ince I guess he was just surplus to requirements, as SB obviously wanted to give all the new signings game time.
I think we've ended up with too many players in the same position, as soon as we signed Ramirez and Ben Arfa I thought Ince and Aluko would be lucky to get a look in. Aluko wasn't considered, as he was the latest back from International duty apparently.
I think i would be inclined to play ince or at least on the bench as an impact sub he can create and worry a defence.agree about so many players in the positional area.
That must be worrying for Ince then because I can't see how he's going to get in ahead of Ben Arfa, Ramirez, Elmo, Aluko or Brady. When he signed he only really had one player in each position to compete with, now he has multiple ones. Can see him going out on loan for a month or two to keep him sharp. We don't enter the FA Cup until January, so we could have him back and match fit in that time. Hell, could even loan him to Blackpool, they could probably do with him.
Ince, Aluko, Bruce jnr and Maguire were all sat together in the executive area last night. All looked to be in good spirits. Terry Dolan was sat a few rows behind. He's there most home games....
I don't think we really planned to sign Ramirez and Ben Arfa until deadline day. Ramirez probably had the same agent as Hernandez and his agent tipped us off when Soton signed a winger on Deadline Day.
I agree with this. All exciting signings but it does feel like we have about 5 who can be called attacking midfielders or play in the hole behind an out and out striker, but we are still in my opinion very light on out and out strikers. Found myself worrying that if Jelavic went off injured last night we had nobody to replace him. Since the summer we have lost 3 (Long, Fryatt and Proschwitz who was clearly not in the frame but still fits that description) and gained one - Hernandez. Wonder how long before Paul Ince is giving Brucey a call? Feel Ince unlucky as done quite well so far.
Strange one because Ince has played well from what I've seen. I know they aren't the same position, but Brady, Huddlestone and Livermore have had woeful starts to the Season IMO.
For the wide and attacking midfield roles we have Brady, Ince, Aluko, Ramiroz, Elmo, Ben Afra and Snodgrass we ever he returns.
Terry Dolan is a refs assessor. He comes to all the games. As for Ince, think how excited we were to get him. And think how we now don't miss him. And think about how far we have come in a month. No wonder a few people booed.
I would have Ince ahead of Meyler, Quinn, Aluko and Brady. Can't believe he didnt make the bench, but that's just my opinion
