Not for me. He got a raw deal but he's not good enough for us IMO. He's have taken us backwards evenutally.

True, because I mean, we're so used to going forwards that "backwards" is an alien term to us... Ermmmmm

All these managers are in the same category of average-ness, of utility over performance, and so I think it's much preferable to have someone we actually like and respect in charge, don't you?

I loved Hughton and was very dissapointed when he was sacked. A very honest, hardworking likable chap however slightly one-dimensional when it came to management for me. Not saying I wouldn't want him back but he comes further down my list than a few others.

I read that Ashley and Pardew pretty much hate each other and Pards is going to be sacked after Hull regardless. Reason being that Ashley wants to make him sweat at SJP for 90 mins first. He has the option to walk of course...

    Anyway don't shoot the messenger.

Interesting. Where'd you read this? Genuinely be interested to know. I'm bored at work and all this Pardew gossip is helping while the time away...

This is odd. It WAS here...

    http://www.magsnews.com

The guy said "I shouldn't be saying this, but..." - seemed genuine enough. Went on to say he knew Ashley and Pardew had a mutual dislike going back to last year, but that certain factors prevented a sacking even after the head-butt. Claims to only offer facts and also said a new manager was already lined up, didn't know the name but that the individual had a "track record of success".

I've never seen that site and I tend to hoover up all info on the web regarding NUFC.

They're interesting claims and I'd love to believe them (christ knows I'm trying to), but it's just so hard to believe information from people who claim to be 'in the know'. Shame it appears to have been taken down. Thanks for sharing anyway.

I just had another scan, strangely this one is still there....

    http://www.magsnews.com/2014/09/5-games-pardews-gone/

It does seem that even before now the bar was set. Maybe some truth and also lends weight to the terse "business as usual" statement.

Did I not see something the other day that Pards had a better win record than all of his 4 predecessors including Hughton? I think we need something better as much as I found Hughton a likeable chap.

Remember him with fondess and how the c**t's stabbed him in the back but let's not have him back. Could you imagine if we were in a horrific relegation battle with fans shouting all sorts at him? It would make terribly sad viewing. He is better off out of it.

We could end up with this c**t:

Chris Hughton's sacking (days before his birthday) was the catalyst that saw me refuse to enter SJP anymore.

That was December of 2010 - nothing has changed my mind and not even his return would see me interested in coming back.
Hughton's Championship Trophy winning team has been completely broken-up now and his chance has gone to build what he was going to.

Love the guy to bits, but you just know he wouldn't stand a chance with Ashley still there and the current crop of useless imports we have currently.

Pity its gone ..Looks quite an interesting site ..so cheers for the link

the Ashely Villain or Saint article is ...interesting, Its certainly an interpretation of the history ..

On one level would love to believe the points he is making, and 2-3 yrs ago could have been persuaded, but the total lack of Summer investment in the 5th placed team ...was the first sign of..stack em high, sell em cheap and DO NOTget relegated, attitude to quality and ambition. This alone undermines most of the arguements presented..as you build on success, Ashley knows and does this elsewhere..ruthlessly (I suppose, the article is kind of arguing that Pardew conned him ..basically)

Do agree with points he makes about the next manager, and why none of the the names in the list are right.
