Diame - well played sir. A great finish. What a pity your defence has let you down a minute later. 2-2.

At spurs we have seen our club spent £15m plus on a transfer on 7 occassions;
Bent £16m
Bentley £16m
Modric £16m
Defoe £15m
Paulinio £19m
Soldado £27m
Lamela £30m
United have spent over £15m 19 times...
£15-19m on 9 players
£20-29m on 7 players
£30-39m on 2 players
£59m on 1 player

United figures here

This suggests you can afford the bests players and pay the higher wages wereas we buy more lower range players...any comparisons on our spending to uniteds is pointless...I aint complaining about united spending their money but it is disingenuous for clubs to look at our spending...united and chelsea severely weakened us in 2006 by buying our dof (arnesen) and carrick. In 2008 united and liverpool weakened us by buying berbatov and keane...these things set us back years...madrid have further weakened us with modric and bale....
Chelsea city and united rarely have to face this problem ... only ronaldo springs to mind tbh.
Spurs do it to clubs lower down and the clubs above do it to us but to compare the money spent ignores the differences

I actually felt a little nauseous tonight, listening to Andy Jacobs and Jason ****y waxing (that should read "****ing") lyrical over United, tonight. The pair fairly whipped themselves into a frenzy about United's 4-0 win over relegation-bound QPR, and used it as the basis for suggesting that United were going to win the title. If they had put a canned-laughter track to the show, one would have thought one was listening to something off Dave. Nothing funny, of course, more like an episode of Bread.

"The return of Man U to top team status IMO is a new low in the history of organized sports."

Or the true statement of reality for the PL.

That is a very good point. It's a card game where the richer players buy the better cards.

I actually felt a little nauseous tonight, listening to Andy Jacobs and Jason c**ty waxing (that should read "w**king") lyrical over United, tonight.

I felt about the same way watching the game. It reminded me of the time I heard someone or other sport wood over Wayne Rooney. Don't get me wrong. I have absolutely nothing against gay love. But hearing it expressed so fervently by a football announcer I found inappropriate, and, frankly, disturbing.

There was a lorra lorra sh**e on ITV last night. I do hope you missed it.

I don't know how much Spurs have spent in PL history. My point was about Man U's spending in the last transfer window, which according to http://www.transferleague.co.uk/premiership-transfers/manchester-united-transfers.html was £113,200,000, while Spurs was £7,750,000.

The same site shows Man U's net spend in the last five years as £282,700,000, and Spurs at -£12,850,000.

It also shows your gross spend at 609million. Ours is 759million.

Considering we dont need to sell in order to buy we can take net spend out of the equation. Pretty close. Few million a season.

If we must discuss net spend, can i bring uniteds other revenue streams into the discussion.

Dawson is crap

He'd walk into the Arsenal squad at the moment. You've got Mertesacker, Koscielny and... er, that's it! <laugh>
Incredibly short-sighted decision not to replace Vermaelen and you still needed another one, anyway.

What a bizarre way of thinking. Totally irrational. I thought Matth was a one-off.

You are, indeed, watching a master craftsman at work, my son.

There is nothing more humbling than passing on one's skill and knowledge; and I am a very humble person.

Chambers is our third choice CB. Mert and Kosc are solid as a pair and chambers is decent backup.

Last season we barely used vermaelen so to say we definitely needed to replace verm and add another cb is going a little far. If we had that fourth cb last season he wouldn't of played a single game.

Dawson wouldn't get anywhere near our team :p

pot, kettle, black,he's as good as Ozil, the signing that was going to win you the title, how did that go!

He won us the fa cup ;)

Ozil 7 goals 15 assist 40 apps
Silva 8 goals 13 assists 40 apps

But silva was the best number ten in the league and ozil was a total flop.

People talk crap. Ozil is absolute quality, one of the most effective players in England last season.

What's the cup got to do with it,the quote was, he will win us the league

That was last season!

So far, this season, he's been absolute pants!

So far this season arsenal haven't played particularly well even when we have got results. Definitely not something unique to ozil this season. And after comming back from winning the World Cup I think our Germans have taken a few games to return properly.
