I used to work for an Insurance company who are famous in Fermanagh for making up excuses for letting people go when the most they should get is a warning. But as I have said teachers are not the problem
Less than many others. A primary school teacher has to spend a few extra hours ticking a few pieces of work, oh my heart bleeds! That makes up for 2 of my house mates (both teachers) going away on holiday every other week whilst everyone else has work on. I get home at 6 in the evening by which time they already have their feet up and have finished dinner. Oh they have it so tough!
Do you even realise the amount of preparation a good teacher does for every lesson plan? And what about the fact they have to deal with quite a few kids who have no interest in learning and just want to disrupt those that do?
Yep I struggled all the way through my classes so much that I was top in every single one. I then struggled so much through College that I went on to University and there I struggled so much I achieved my degree. I went to schools where the teachers were ****ing awful but I achieved well thanks to hard work and the support of my teachers.
Does preparing lessons involve parting, trips abroad and going to music festivals? In that case the teachers I live with put in a lot of preparation.
Yet you're on a forum now complaining about Teachers getting paid too much, so somewhere along the lines you've gone wrong. If, as you claim, have got a degree - it must be pretty **** that you even care about how much Teachers get paid.
I care that they get paid ****ing plenty and still moan about it. My Uncle is a retired teacher at 50, must have been on really bad money to have to work until that age.
Sounds like you are basing your opinions on a minority. The majority of teachers work damn hard and are very good at what they do. At least they are in Northern Ireland.
I'm sorry but compared to people in many other jobs they are very very wealth off in terms of pay, holiday, pensions etc yet they still go on strike and moan constantly.
Lazy shower of jumped up pricks. I ****ing hate them. Don't like your pay and conditions? Get a new job. ****ing ****s. Their pay and conditions are well above the levels people with similar qualifications, experience and responsibility have.
Before replying to jimbo remember - Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
..................post an ill informed rant full of assumptions and sweeping generalisations about something that you think will get you lots of support on a public internet forum. You did really well - congratulations.
For every hour of teaching time (standard lesson length, give or take) there is another hour of prep, marking, paperwork etc that must be done. If you're a head of department, for example, you also have extra duties on top of teaching, such as budgets, equipment, trip organising & admin etc that cannot be done during your teaching time. Have you actually considered what teachers do during their holidays? Okay, they get a long summer holiday, but the spend every other holiday (Christmas, Easter, half terms etc.) marking & evaluating work, and then preparing lessons for next term. And that's coming from a 16 year old who is supposed to hate teachers...
