Always been a camel man. If a shop doesn't have them (happens more than you might think) I'll settle for a Marlboro light. A friend gave me a Windsor(?) the other day. Never again.
Camels and Marlboros (red) are decent smokes - strong with a good quality tobacco. Embassy No 1 are fine, too. My father-in-law smokes weird brands with names like Penny Lane and Park Royal, but I won't go there, hence the need to have plenty of roll-ups handy. I take my smoking seriously, which can't be a good thing.
I know Marlboro has already been mentioned but being a pack of cigarettes would certainly prove the inspiration for this seasons home shirt
Have you been in the Wetherspoons (the converted cinema) in the High St ? I have spent many a happy time in there (moved from FH six years ago). There is also a decent pub on the left as you walk out of Forest Hill station ...I can't remember its name but it is about 100 yards up opposite Barclays. Full of trendy Forest Hill types on a Friday night.
The Capitol is the wetherspoons. It's been our tradition to go there on Christmas Eve since we were 16 (shhh). The one opposite the Barclays is the Dartmouth arms. Haven't been there in around 8-10 years since my mate stopped working there. My local is probably another 100 yards up - the bird in hand. It's a proper boozer with plenty of character, but the missus refuses to step foot in there. Perhaps that's why it's my favorite
Packed up 26 years ago, although I've got the C.O.P.D. as a reminder. It's at the mild end, and hardly affects me. Old Holborn roll-ups were my favourite, Golden Virginia never quite cut it for me.
