Precisely, next week should be an acid test, even if it's for the fans. We want this win probably more than against other team.

Problem is, he was given the credit for uniting the players and getting us up through the playoffs last season. Now that we're playing sh*t again, everyone's blaming Harry but not mentioning old Guru Steve.

I think its far too early to be calling for Redknapp's head but I'll tell you one thing, many more capitulations like that and he'll be out the door. His approach to the game yesterday was a disgrace. He surrendered before a ball was kicked and never gave his players a chance. As Alan Brazil said this morning, its the first in a long time that a small team has gone to United quivering in their boots at what awaited them. Every other limited side has had a go at them and many have gotten results. The message going to the players is "you're not good enough to play so I'm not allowing you to".

They still should have sweat blood though. I know I would on 50+ grand a week. Traore was the only player to take United on.

Bloody hell, Swords, it must have been worse than I thought if even you are now criticising Redknapp.

I don't have a problem with the result. The score and performance yes, but the result, no.

I'd have much rather lost 4-0 after 'having a go' but to go down 4-0 in the fashion we did was embarrassing. Oh, and on the point of embarrassment, step up Matty Phillips.....A Sunday league player would have put away that open goal attempt.

The truth is out there somewhere...

We really couldn't have been much more unlucky with the injuries that came up before the game. Add Barton and Mutch to the existing absence of Faurlin and you really have stripped away the possibility of winning much in midfield before a ball is kicked. However - if HR intended to be ultra defensive why not start Henry rather than Krancjar? And if he didn't intend to be ultra defensive WTF were the players doing?

Three of their goals had a distinct element of good fortune and the timing of each killed any rally that might have been possible. However - chances for the opposition will always happen when you spend 99% of the game in your own half.

We were again unfortunate to play United when we did with so many star players old and new busting a gut to prove themselves. Second to Real Madrid this is now undoubtedly the most talented squad of individuals in the world and no one expected to win. However - our football has been so poor and uninspiring under HR that it's hard to see how it would ever produce the kind of spark needed to at least make a good showing in this kind of pressure situation.

I'm glad Traore is getting some credit for yesterday. While we know his faults, he was totally fearless yesterday at taking the game to them. It was that unusual for one of our players that you could almost see it on United players' faces i.e. "Excuse me buddy - are you not reading the script here?!". Fair play to the lad for having a go. He certainly is endearing himself to me with his attitutde. Turned down a better deal with Palace to fight for his place and when he gets brought on as a sub he actually tries to step up against a quality side. Top man.

Have to say I had assumed the Palace move would not have been as lucrative as staying with us, but I may be doing young Armand a disservice.

Traore has been doing all right lately when he is played LB. I don't understand why Arry keeps starting Clint who everyone else including the great man himself says he can't play there, and not Traore. Yun still injured?

This is what frustrates me because at this level you have to pass quickly and move at pace which saw our best move yesterday with Kranjker's shot after great run by Traore... but it was the only time yet against Sunderland we attacked quickly at times with first time balls and got a lot of joy in the 2nd half. Ok it wasnt Man U away but Phillips and Hoillet never got out of 2nd gear. Watching again even Gary Neville was telling us that is what hurts UTD!.........

My criticism of Arry is we played too slowly 2 years ago and we are doing the same now....................He should know better with his experience as I certainly dont hear any bollockings going on if they are not doing as he says.............. .

Don't like the OP but I can't argue with that statement Fourty its the way I feel.

However I really think there is more to come from this team and Harry as I think he will be focusing on more on the matches that count for us, but only time will tell and I'm hopeful. Having said that I still get very frustrated over a performance like that.

Individual errors cost us. 1st goal Hill not mobile enough to get his head to it. Phillips could not equalise with De Gea nearer the halfway line than the goal. 2nd Goal Fer did not chase back,Sandro missed a tackle on Di Maria. 3rd goal Caulker did not the basics of closing down Rooney Green beaten at near post. 4th Goal Ferdinand played Mata onside when he could clearly see the defensive line. Stoke played exactly the same way at City and got all 3 points, because every player new his job and did not make any errors. Poster- its easier to the blame the manager, but I suggest you have spent 40 yrs not learning much about football.

Love Clint but he also gave away the daft free kick in the first place for their 1st goal so a catalogue of errors really.

The manager played an un-match-fit Sandro as the only holding midfielder against Man Utd away. He also played Hill at LB instead of Traore, only to yet again rectify his mistake at half time. He also continues to select a sunday league standard Phillips.

Glad Traore has got some bloddy praise at last after all the s**t was getting from fans last year
I said when he decleared his loyalty to us, that i was happy with this as he is a decent player. Seems now he's decided to prove it - good man.

No doubt his detractors will be back when he makes a mistake, but thats football i guess.!

He did. Where was he for the 4th goal? AT (the bearded one we are talking about) is no defender but on his day is pretty good at attacking the opposition defence. Still the OP is about the tactics and passion displayed yesterday. I find it difficult to see what is the purpose is of going to the big boys' homes if we are not prepared to give them a game. Plan A only works if you can hold on for 90 minutes. It's difficult to see what Plan B was apart from a few nice passing moves once we had already thrown the game away. The Traore cameo showed without a shadow of any doubt at all that we would have done quite a bit better had we actually bothered to take them on. 30 points at home this season is achievable. That leaves us needing 10 more to be gleaned away from home. The level of ambition in the two games so far suggest we will struggle to get even that many. There aren't that many teams in the Prem who are as negative as we were yesterday when playing away from home.

Dont disagree with any of that mate, just giving credit where it is due thats all.
I dont think "Arry Out" is a very clever call after losing away at Man Utd and im giving him 12 games to show some sign of progress. After that he cant really have any major excuses and things should start to pan out. Still got my support ATM even if I do have questions about his team selections or tactics or.... <ok>

There you said it every player knew his job?!!!!! So wheres that come from?.............So are you praising Hughes the Manager who most hate on here....or saying Arry has not managed properly?!! Sorry, I dont think Harry is capable any more or perhaps Hoddle took a couple of weeks off!! In reply to another poster 40 years of supporting Rangers through thick and thin and seeing it all. Im sorry if I have rocked the boat but we all have different opinions and I am more than aware than continuity in Management is paramount in football but I felt he should have gone end of last season not just after an inept, unacceptable performance on Sunday again. There were too many last year with the best squad in the league. Plus all 3 away competitive games so far this season have been dire and the team goes out with no confidence and this must come from Arry.

I also posted on here early August that we should have a settled team to start the season whether this was our best team or not to build team confidence and morale because I believe early season is a chance to pick up points with a settled side (as Leicester have) when so many teams are recruiting. 4 games in he is changing systems and players and using excuses and Im sure many more to come yet he has sold our best right back to a main rival for relegation because he could not play wing back and the day he goes reverts to a back four and Isla is more of a wing back?!!!..................Priceless.....

He got the best out of Spurs players yet getting the worst out of ours.......and from players he says are the right sort so it must lie with him...
