There was a Russell Howard's Good News episode once when he had a guest who only eats roadkill. He had a cooked badgers head with him on the show, he was a weird looking guy. Could have played a serial killer in a film with very little make up required!

Finches are a big family of birds. Like tits they come in all sorts of shapes and colours. Most of them are fairly small though.

There are Greenfinches, Chaffinches, Bullfinches and maybe even Goldfinches in Brighton, surely. Are you more the indoorsey type? <whistle>

Incidently, here's a pic of a Zebra Finch:

I have never had road kill... but the most commonly eaten road kill around here is Venison... which I assume tastes like... well... Venison. It's not unusual after a car vs deer impact (which happens a lot... a lot of deer in South Carolina- deer are responsible for more human deaths than any other animal here) for someone in a pickup truck to come- pick up the deer and take it home to eat.

Possums/Ground Hogs/Armadillo (they've started expanding their range into South Carolina now)/ Racoons/Nutria/Beaver... You hear stories of people eating them- and you see them squashed on the road... Nutria sound especially appetising <laugh>. I don't think people often eat them... too little usable meat left over after a hit I would have thought.

I'd stay away from Armadillo anyway though because they carry the disease that causes leprosy... which even if modern medicine can cure- I wouldn't want to get.

People do hunt (to eat) Ground Hogs, Deer and Nutria. Also Wild Turkey. Of those, I've only eaten Deer (but farm raised) and Wild Turkey (tastes more gamey than regular Turkey- more like Pheasant).

What kind of family? A 700 member redneck clan? Jimbo, jimbob, merle, earl, cletus, beavis, Charlene, dorris, fanny mae and co. Would it feed them for a while?

Also what if one tried to marry it?

An Indian guy at one factory I worked at was called Moose. I never did learn his real name (never worked with him directly, only through contacts and they didn't know his real name).

Apparently none of the factory workers could pronounce his name so they called him Moose. I would say that is racist/disrespectful, except I was told that he introduced himself to everyone as Moose- so he must not have minded too much people not trying to say his name the right way.

To the best of my knowledge nobody ate Moose.
