It would be a massive disaster for the whole of NATO to pile in and attack ISIL. That's exactly what they want and would prove their argument that the west is waging a crusade against them. They must be seen to be destroyed not only by Muslims but by a largely Sunni-backed force. A mostly Shia Muslim force will only inflame things further as well. ISIL wants to take us all back to the 7th Century. That's one of the reasons they use swords and knives and other medieval methods of execution. To repeat history. These methods of mass and personal execution aren't an accident, they're deliberate. The US and the UK are right not to over-react in this instance, it's exactly what these nutters want. That's why our governments are trying to persuade a largely Sunni grouping from across the Middle East to take them on.
I really don't think you can defeat it with purely military might. For every one that dies another three or four are joining up. Interesting that the IS are murdering our people due to an alliance with the US. Kerry has just announced a coalition of 40 countries, 10 of which are Arab. Be interesting to hear what IS think about this. Will they turn their attentions to their neighbouring countries? Or will they show themselves to complete hypocrites and expose themselves of simply having a grudge against the West. Suddenly their 'campaign' against the US Allies has just become a mammoth task if they're to follow their own principles. I expect it will be double standards as they ignore the likes of the Saudi's and Egyptians, to continue with their false reasons against the west. Once they show that it's **** all to do with religion and expose themselves as the racists they actually are they'll prove to Russia and the rest of the world they're just a terror group with Nazi ideals. I expect cooperation for every country and for the world to finally unite to create an alliance the IS know they'll never defeat.

Cracking post mate, I do think that Iran would stop this melee if it was to run to the Middle east further. In Northern Iraq & Syria they are in their haven. They know that there is no chance in hell of getting to Baghdad and so it stops and the beheadings begin. I always think that mate, there's some people who just kid themselves into thinking they're such a nice person that it'd never happen to them. I know somebody who's stuck in Iraq right now, the government have his passport and he can't leave the country... sorry pal, that's part of the risk you've taken going to a hell hole. Couldn't agree more. I would also add in these young girls, that travel to Asian countries and end up being raped and even murdered. FFS, they rape and murder their own with impunity! Do they think their European passports are some sort of personal shield, from these animals? Yes the humanitarians are very worthy human beings for going out to these places to aid those that need help. But when you know what has happened to others, who these scum have captured, why on Earth would you imagine it's not going to happen to you! Some of them you could have previously saved their Mothers life and they would still remove your head with a smile on their evil faces.
