Well firstly, no he isn't. You might want to have a look at how big a tosser he was prior to the whole Anton debacle AND his own racism during it. Secondly, how do you know Bodanki is talking about the racism incident? I find it incredibly disrespectful that Ferdinand has come out and just pubicly lambasted Moyes. He has nothing to gain from doing so.
Yes he does. He gets to sell even more of his autobiography. £££, the motivating force for pretty much everyone in football. I doubt any pundit or ex-player is going to comment on this story without a nice fee from their broadcaster / publisher / journalist for doing so. Same with the wailing and gnashing of teeth that accompanied SAF's book last year.
The bit that made me laugh was when he said that Moyes took the players to the park on the day of the Bayern game to practice set-pieces.
Never like reading bad publicity about you own club. There are times when the "silence is golden" saying is correct. SAF did the same, and its not really part of the game. What goes on on the dressing room should stay in the dressing room
True, although a lot of the player's reputations were also damaged, with plenty of pundits queueing up to point the finger at Rio, Vidic and others as having let Moyes down. Maybe Rio feels the need to get some of his side of the story across. Same way plenty of our ex staff (Phelan, Rene etc) felt the need to weigh in after they were ditched by Moyes. I agree it shouldn't be necessary either way, but then the amount of media focus on Utd over the past year or so was always going to result in ex players, staff etc having their say.
Everyone should speak out about it (once away from the club). Rio was a massive player for us and a pile of **** like moyes has possibly tarnished his reputation amongst some fans (those concerned with personality over ability). Same with vidic and evra. Giggs too.
Moyes was out of his depth but it is a little unfair for him to get the boot and then give the next manager 150 million to spend in his first window (thus proving that the squad was not up to task). When LVG inevitably improves United, how much will that get remembered? United massively failed Moyes in the transfer market last summer.
That game against Fulham was a joke. What kind of manager takes over a team that has just won the league and decides that route one is the way forwards.
Moyes was given money to spend. The problem was he couldn't convince any top players to come and play for him which is why he turned to Fellaini at the last minute.
But the players should also carry some of the blame, and rightfully so. It just sounds like Rio is pointing the finger rather than accepting it was a combination of an inept appointment and some of the players being ****. One major factor I think would have been the players not actually wanting to play for Moyes, which in itself is bad. Happened with us when both Scolari and AVB were in charge too. I don't get how he's a pile of ****? He just wasn't good enough to take on a club like United. Blame Fergie for it, not him. Rio was crap in his last season and still is now, that isn't Moyes' fault.
