correct kiwi and Josh, but if we don't have wide men we still need players with pace and genuine quality to break teams down through the middle a la Barcelona ... they could play a diamond because they had Xavi, Iniesta and Messi through the middle with their full backs bombing on, and their opponents would sit back deep against them which meant their full backs seldom needed to defend ... big difference to the Championship and no reputation for ripping teams apart, so our diamond is constantly under pressure, even against a long ball game because the lack of width still allows opposing full backs into our half too easily so we're always forced to play from deep into congested areas Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Still frustrates me that Bates let that team fall apart. A 'Gradel' would be massive for us, we'd have an outlet and a game changer willing to run past players and commit defenders.
