Bless you, Chazz (Chazz?!) - it's just that the day has been a funny one. Been mushrooming with mates and me dog. Lost her down a rabbit-hole. Then she went into the river, a-swimming. Beer (and mushrooms fried in garlic butter and thyme) at the pub. Then I get home, fire up the laptop and discover the meltdown on here. Forgot all about the Vuelta until I saw John's post. Not even looked at the Tour of Britain (Wiggy and Swift).
You have to feel sorry for Chris Froome, but what a great sight him and Contador battling up the last climb, only for Contador to win it finally. Well done Chris Froome looks like 2nd spot overall, but a great achievement.
Great racing last 2 days in the TOB, breakaways winning both stages. All to play for in the time trial tomorrow, should be a close thing.
Last stage in the Vuelta now taking place. 9.7km individual time trial. Froome off at 20.16 and Contador @ 2 mins later.
Too far apart to get the win Stan, but will just be interesting how much time Froome can take out of Contador.
Yeah - 01.37 looks to be too much. It'd need a brilliant ride from Froome and a crash (!) from Contador.
Not good for Froome he seems prone to crashing out in wet conditions. Let's hope he put's in a really good time, which will make Contador take a risk or two.
Well done Alberto Contador , I must admit he is a much more stylish rider than Froome I didn't see the point of that last time trial and good job it didn't really change anything because the rain made the course dangerous in places
Certainly the better climber of the two of them, but Froome was getting better towards the end, they were the 2 outstanding riders.
They cut the last 50m off the course - I think cos it was cobbles. Froome took 27secs out of Contador on the TT, but Alberto is the better climber, which is why he won it on those last 3 mountain stages.
