Appears to be a disappearing act ongoing.

I didn't think it was that boring.

Perhaps we only post when we are winning :)

It is rather quiet isn't it?

For me, when we've lost, especially when we played well enough to win, I want to sit and sulk a bit.

I'm not sure what we did wrong yesterday other than not score a goal.

The new lads looked promising; Bojan looks already like he's a bit less likely to get pushed off the ball. Moses had pace and made some good runs. I didn't think anyone had a bad game. Crouch should have been given more protection by the ref and he wouldn't have conceded that yellow card.

I only saw the MOTD highlights but I thought it was a poor goal to give away although Ulloa did take it well. We ought to have been able to stop it reaching him in the first place. It's concerning that we dominated the first half but didn't really create any clear-cut chances. It is early days but to lose two home games in succession against teams we would expect to get something from is a little worrying. Our home form has kept us in the PL up to now and I don't think we will improve our away form enough to compensate for poor home form this season. Let's hope that things start improving soon. We have the squad, IMO, to enable us to avoid a relegation battle....BUT......

I think the number of posters has dropped since Pulis left and Hughes did a great job last year, I expect they may return if we continue as we are.

In relation to the game we dominated for long periods, which is reflected in the possession and shots stats - we are simply not good enough in front of goal. How Walters has wormed his way back into the team and Huth doesn't beggars belief.

    Well Nick

By magic I have managed to log in after forgetting password!

I have been away in France until Friday and travelled up yesterday for a much better game than Villa.

Proud says we did not create chances in first half. We did. Crouch should have scored with the header shown on MOTD. What it did not show was that teh ball was immediately changed after that corner as it had gone soft. So the flight of the ball may have deceived him. Another corner Shawcross took the ball away from Crouch when the latter was in a much better position to head in.

It was a poor goal to concede and again Wilson looked at the player going to the back post but did not get close enough to him to affect the move. Reminded me of the goal at Hull when he switched off.

On yesterday I think Moses ought to demand the ball or go and get it rather than waiting for it to come to him.

24 shots and 4 on target. That does not include some that were blocked but for me we only really tested the reserve keeper in the last 5 minutes.

Disappointing result and it makes it more important we chalk a win at QPR and hope that Pardew is still in a job when he comes to the Brit and Newcastle play as poorly as they did yesterday!

I agree, with QPR taking a pasting today and Newcastle similarly yesterday, the next 2 games are crucial for us to get some points on the board. I do hope Pardew is still in charge. I shall be attending the Brit on 29th so hopefully we will win. 4pts from the next two games will be ok.

    Thanks Cris.

Hope is a crippling emotion, but I was hoping, with our new acqisitions of a better return than 2 goals in 4 games!!

    Shotton scored today <yikes>

my opinion of the game yesterday, we should have been out of sight at half time, Crouch cant hit a cows arse with a banjo but the good thing is we are creating lots of chances. Its weird because we used to be the smash and grab team under Pulis and its strange to be on the other side of the fence for a change. 9/10 we would have won that game but thats football for you. Its a bad result but most importantly not a bad performance.

If we play like we did first half against QPR on Saturday we have a good chance of getting 3 points.

It's good to know that you have confidence, Ric, being someone who watches them 'live'. It's frustrating to dominate games but not be able to capitalise and end up losing. Still if QPR, Baggies, Palace, Newcastle and Burnley continue to perform like they have so far, I won't be too worried. UTP

Fair enough PP, but this season, just for a change I was hoping for a good final position through our own merits rsther than other teams inadequacies.

Leicester did as Villa did and as we did against M. City , and that was pack the penalty area with bodies. Hence the multitude of blocked shots and deflections for corners. It is not sour grapes or trying to find excuses for the result , but I have to say that the referee was wrong regarding a number of instances. Too many fouls on Stoke players were allowed without a yellow card being issued , and this led to Crouch lashing out illegally. And from where I was sitting it looked a penalty to me.

Lets KTF as Potts reminds us and put it down to it just being not our day. keep smiling Stokies

" Where have all the regulars gone ? " you asked ; is it possible that those of us who continue to post , write stuff that is of no interest to those who were once regulars , but who we now hear from very rarely ? This is a Stoke F.C. forum and so perhaps we should focus more on club issues ?

How very very very dare you.

Are you suggesting that I am a boring old git <steam>

When did I last post on a 'non' Stoke topic?

In all seriousness, I think Smithers hit the nail on the head, this forum used to 75% at least about Pulis, let's just hope that it does not become all about Hughes, in that negative aspect.

Anyway, how about the forthcoming Rugby World Cup, a much better topic eh :emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0103-cool:

I wouldn't call you old. But when " Word Association " gets umpteen times as many posts as any other thread , I think we have got sidetracked.
