you are always overdue... you are so overdue you've swollen up like a balloon and are waddling round like a beluga. the reason is we actually bother our arses unlike today.
At least we'll improve defensively when we get to play our £35m centre back partnership & £12m left back!!!
They provided that same template last year mate, few picked up on it fortunately. We all see the weak points of our team, some are integration problems others are hero worship gone past its sell by date. I've resigned myself to avother year of it so hope the newbies use this year to adjust.
Maybe its a psychological thing, when GJ in the team we try harder You know, like when you get a man sent off and you are down to 10
Liverpool battered villa from start to finish and it was one of those games that happen now and again that the ball would not go into the net. Villa had a lucky day as they should have lost 5-1 at the very least....thats football for you as liverpool will not be the only team to lose a game having been the dominant side this season.
Thought Villa dominated that first 20 mins, tbh and we were lucky to be only on Me down at that point.
I'll take any compliment, but not really sure if you were watching the same game as us! We might have dominated the ball, but we did fook all with it and 14 out of our 15 chances were long range efforts of which only one troubled the keeper (Coutinho's post effort).
Slightly off topic, but will the FA do anything about Senderos kicking Balotelli off the ball. I don't know if they have to receive a complaint from the affected team or whether they just action things themselves. Anyone know the procedure.
They can look into it if the ref didn't make a comment about it in his report from what I believe. The fact he was looking the other way (can't blame him for not seeing it, considering how far away from play it happened) I'd like to think he didn't see it and it'll get looked into. Fact is, doesn't really help us though and although Villa are doing well, I'd like to hope come the end of the season they aren't our near rivals and missing a player for 3 games wont make a difference to our position. Saying that, would send a message out that you cant jut randomly kick Balotelli during a game and get away with it
That's my worry that because Villa got away with targeting him, clearly hoping for some mad reaction, that other teams will try the same.
Well, that was quite possibly the worst performance I have seen in a long time. For once, our attack was toothless and had no ideas. In their defence, our front 3 were all new - we were badly missing Sterling and DS who key figures last season. Feels like we're in a transitional period again. The defence made some very silly mistakes - again Lovren is at fault for another goal, whilst Sakho should have prevented the corner. It's extremely annoying because I am a massive Sakho fan and he will be an absolute monster for majority of the game but is prone to one error. I thought Manquillo was our best defender - unspectacular but very dependable. Moreno was quite rash I felt and he really should have done better with his chance just before HT. Gerrard was ok and his range was brilliant, but very little movement from those in front of him. It's quite clear that we have to play with 2 up top in a diamond formation - even if we don't have the personnel for it. Playing Henderson that deep is just a waste. Hope we have Allen back soon because I think he is crucial part of this team. All in all - it was an off day. In every aspect and Villa thorougly deserved it. Injuries to key players like Sturridge and Allen (I know most will disagree on Allen but he provides a crucial balance in the midfield) hasn't helped combined with a completely new front 3 which lacked cohesion and movement contributed to our downfall.
