This might play into the anti name change hands! If AA thinks theirs a chance that SB might jump ship then he might have to come clean and tell him his true intentions? So if SB stays it could be he's been given reassurances!
Its a clearly made up article. For these facts to be true, the reporter would of had to of spoken to Bruce to confirm who he would want as a number 2. Surely this is Liable....I would get my solicitors involved If I were Hull City AFC.
This is the perfect opportunity for Bruce to try to force Allam to drop this ****, if he so chooses to. He could flirt with Newcastle and scare Allam half to death. The Allams are nothing without Bruce. End the circus, keep our best ever manager. Don't let him slip.
If, through his utter pigheadedness, the old man manages to force the best manager we have ever had to another club then he will deserve all the vitriol that will descend on him. Give it up and concentrate on keeping SB here. Nothing else is even remotely as important as this.
Quite possibly. It would be a rude awakening for him. I can't stress enough the importance for the Allams that they don't lose Bruce.
If Steve Bruce leaves (and he will if he's offered the job) you can point the finger squarely at that overgrown toad of an owner of ours. He'll be livid that this name change fiasco is once again overshadowing his good work. Let's be quite clear about this.
Their owner is more cuckoo than ours. He's also in the same vein as "nobody will tell me how to run my business".
Newcastle fans also thinking he won't go there whilst Ashley is in charge and some of them even admitting our playing squad is better than theres.
To all those doubting he would go then ask yourself this - why did he give the interview this morning? When they pitched for it why didnt he just say no? If it wasnt our club we'd all be thinking he'd just thrown his hat into the ring.
You and others desperately wanting it to happen wont make it so. So carry on and completely ignore everything Steve Bruce has said on his relationship and the free hand he has running the football side of the club.
A very good post. I would only add point 10. He's now got a bloody good squad to work with, one he's handpicked, why would he give that up?
Because he wants rid of the speculation, so it doesn't effect his team, he's built a better team here at hull than the Newcastle team! It would be a foolish step for him, because we would only need to bring in a good manager and we will succeed! Our players are too good!..he would have a hell of a lot to do at Newcastle and risk failure! Plus with the work he is doing at hull, has people saying he should be next England manager, he is putting a lot on the line, yes it's Newcastle (and he likes colback) but I look at the Newcastle team and I just can't see Bruce there! I can quite honestly see, David moyes at Newcastle!
Picture this.. Just imagine Moyes' Newcastle beating Man U in the near future? The Toon fans would revel in that, plus they've seen Moyes bring success to a club more their size (Everton) I think this is the more likely potential scenario Newcastle will still be Bruce's dream - you can't deny that, but not now; I think the current Hull City project may lead to it later on down the line. I really don't think the name change bothers Bruce as a manager (although it probably annoys him personally)
