Love that final replay, think it was the goal that equalled Wrights record
He's good, but Fabregas is also making him look even better than he is. Four games, six goals for Costa. Four games, six assists for Fabregas.
Chelsea look the real deal, but if there is one thing you can say, maybe it's a case of peaking too early, we've seen Fabregas like this before, on fire during the early parts of the season (August-November) but then not as effective during crunch time. They have a big game next week against City, should tell us more about them.
You have to hand it to Jose, much as I hate to admit it. He like most observers knew where the issue was last season.... What does he do, he goes out to address the areas they were found wanting (I thought his team should/could have won the league last season). Our old frog face would not have brought in reinforcements if he had that squad, he would have said Torres would come good..... Over the years, we have lacked real quality in key areas, sometimes just 1-2 players from seriously mounting a challenge, but the dithering old fool..... You here fans on here say, where do we get players of that calibre from blah blah?
So do we, however the only difference is that they have the ability to out-score most opponents, with that beast of a striker they have upfront.... That is 2 games they have had to come from behind. Just imagine if we had a Costa?
Liverpool currently struggling against Villa. All the top teams bar Chelsea have been patchy so far. The World Cup effect?
Our bad form has nothing to do with the WC, but with **** defending. Better defending would've seen us beat both City and Leicester.
You look at the first goal today, where in the **** was our LB? We need to stop committing suicide when going forward and show some more discipline, some of our defenders need to realise they're defenders and their first priority is to defend.
It kinda does. Anyone can see that Mert is clearly nowhere near his best, and that's cause he missed pre-season because of the World Cup, and is not fit enough. Last season bar those three trashings, he was our leader at the back and was commanding the defence, while also defending brilliantly himself. Without Mert at his best, the whole defence is looking shaking.
Even Ramsey has looked off the pace and Ozil even at his worst last season didn't play this badly. Jack has been improving gradually this season IMO.
Ramsey does not have the World Cup excuse, though. I think he just needs to go back to playing it simple.
I meant that in the way that he needs to get re-acclimated with his teammates but yeah he needs to stop overelaborating things. Focus on doing the job not making a show of it. Might give him a spell on the bench soon if he doesn't improve soon. He has the quality he just needs to reapply himself and discover his previous form.
Ozil will never ever be good on the wings, we are wasting him out there. As for Ramsey, he didn't even play in a bloody WC and had a full pre-season, so don't see how you can blame the WC for Ramsey! Anyways, Ramsey did get an assist today, . He's one of those players who can be off form, but still produces one moment in the game.
Too early to say for sure but I think we might see Chelsea have a comfortable romp in the league this season
