Anyone have a good reason why he's waited 5 months to start an appeal.

There’s no wonder it’s the only the stupid: the outraged and incoherent HDM/Radio Humberside set who buy into this incompetent, intransigent, farcical even comical state of affairs.

It’d be pretty funny, if it wasn’t at the expense of our historic football club.

So his pitch to the FA is, agree the change or I'll give the club away. A slightly different tune to, agree the change and I'll walk within 24 hours.

Well this just go to show he is not in full knowledge of the facts, which makes you wonder why he came out to make a fool of himself. Surely anyone coming out to face the media would get an important point like that correct.

Well 83% of you are confident that the appeal will fail. I was surprised to see Steve Bruce say he thinks Allam will get his way. I know he has to been seen to support his chairman but he really didn't need to say that. I wonder if he knows something the rest of us don't.

Is he really going to argue against his employer? He's been asked the question that much he must be sick of having to answer it keeping everyone as happy as possible.

I agree he has to support his employer. But he didn't have to give such a straight answer to the question. A simple I don't know would have done, he could have said we are here to talk about the west ham game and flat batted it.

I don't think he would be sacked for saying he doesn't know what the outcome will be. Do you really believe he had no other option than to say he thinks Allam will win his appeal?

I suspect he thinks the who thing is ridiculous and shouldn't be happening at all.

    Me too.

Massive traditionalist is Brucie and he'll say what he needs to say to keep onside. It'll always be 'let him get on with, but back the team' type answers and as long as it doesn't affect matters on the pitch he'll keep it that way.

I suspect the moment it becomes a distraction or affects results, he'll be a little more guarded in answers and avoid it as an irritant to him - which it is.

Add - he's our biggest ally, but could also become the martyr in all of this.

No idea, but Bruce isn't stupid and before taking this job he'll have seen what happened with Barmby and known he'd be treading on eggshells. He'd have to be pretty stupid to say anything other than exactly what Allam wants.

You might well be right but I wasn't questioning if Bruce agrees or not. I just found it strange for him to say he thinks the appeal will be won and wondered what he knows when the majority on here are so confident it will fail.

Bruce's relationship with the Allams appear to be nothing other than excellent. They both speak highly of each other. I would say his job is one of the safest in the league. Like you say, Bruce isn't stupid and is great with the media. He could have got out of that question if he wanted too.

We keep hearing this but what's it based on? All I've seen to support it is Bruce's comments in the media, but again, he has to be positive about them. Every manager says nice things about their owner if asked, but for some reason here we see it as a great relationship.

I did say appear, I don't know for certain. I'm only going on what they both say and have no reason to doubt it.

For Steve Bruce's opinion to have any weight he'd have to be an expert on the FA's rules on arbitration and, possibly, European competition law. Assem Allam will have told him that his barristers say he has a good chance of winning. Steve Bruce, I suspect, is just repeating what he's been told by his chairman.

To say he needs to be an expert for his opinion to carry any weight isn't true. His opinion does carry some weight and suspect he knows a lot more of what is going on than we do.
