Great 1st half. Pelle is turning out to be a fantastic acquisition! I thought we let the pressure off a bit too much in the last 1 minutes or so though. Would like us to pick it back up at the start of the second half.
Great to get to half-time at 2-0...we used to be a bit fond of letting one in. Now what we don't want to do is.....well, you know the rest.
I don't think this midfield is working as well as Koeman would have liked to. Cork is best in a holding role, receiveing the ball from CB's and distributing it forward, but he's pushed out of that role and further up the pitch by Schneiderlin, so he's not playing as well as he can. I think we'll see a change soon. We still need to gel as a team, lot of moves break down from the lack of understanding. Long is a bit lost in his role. Newcastle can score only by accident.

Being critical here - really good 30 minutes but we kinda took our foot off the gas (almost too easy) and have let a really, really dispirited and poor Newcastle back into the game a little. I don't think it'll be a problem, but I'd give them a bit of a rocket if I were Koeman. We can't afford any favours here and need to kill them off.
Like this substitution from Saints, was hoping Koeman would do it. Newcastle has a lot of tough dudes in the midfield, were physically bossing us a bit near the end of the half.
