Flamini is our only defensive midfielder, can't take him off, if anything, take Ozil off for Chambo, or wait till the hour mark, and take Wilshere off for OXO, and let Ozil come into the middle.
But who's doing defensive duties in midfield? I think the real problem is that we went gung-ho and left ourselves susceptible to the counter. If we had a defensive midfielder with more pace and power than Flamini, it would make it harder for City to burst through our midfield. Because right now, it's taking one ball down the channel and 6/7 players are taken right out of the game.
We played well, and are losing, that's all that matters. 45 minutes to come, time to put up or shut up, nothing short of a win will do, simple as that.
Unlucky to be losing in my opinion. But the difference is that City were clinical with the chance they had and we haven't been. I still think we can win this, but we need to start the second half with the same energy as the first. And FFS Monreal, you need to defend, we're getting skinned on the left.
One of the reasons why I predicted City to win was if Wenger sticks Ozil on the wing. He is NOT A WINGER, he is a central playmaker. Ozil is looking poor because he is not playing in his proper position, end of.
