His willingness to do this shows that he's as far removed from being a premier-league prima donna as it's possible to be. But we knew that. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-29155565 He was a player that I'd always liked long before he came to us, and I grew to like him even more afterwards. And his semi-final goal against Hamburg is, possibly, my favourite single Fulham moment - even more so than Gera's winner in the same match or Dempsey's lob against Juventus.
Your title says it all Captain - Legend. And here is the "Stand Up if you Believe" moment: [I[Link to video: http://vimeo.com/44441230
Simon Davies: Legend. Could not have said it better. Nice article, but pity it underplayed his most important part at FFC - his first ever European goal and then again in the final. C58 - The hairs on the back of my neck even now remember that "Stand Up if you Believe" moment before Danny's pass for Simon's goal an My Man's winner.
A pleasure to watch him as a youngster at the Posh .... used to player along side Etherington ...... They were outstanding
I always wished we could have brought in Etherington as well. I remember seeing them play when they were still at Posh and you could tell they would be special. At least we did bring in one of them. Digger is possibly my favourite Fulham player. I just wish he was injury free and still playing in our team - we could still really use him now! And as an aside, if that goal against HSV had been scored by Lionel Messi everyone would have been raving about it. What an incredible goal that was.
