Kane has been immense for the U-21s in the two recent matches so I think he's fine (unless he picked up a knock?), came off the bench and scored the winner in the first match and scored and assisted in the second. He has 2 in 2 starts for us in Europa, plus the assist for Dier's at West Ham, this all on top of a fine ending to last season, maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit but is it perhaps time to give Harry the chance to lead the attack in a League game? I still think Ade is first choice don't get me wrong but I feel Kane's putting himself into a situation now where I honestly think it's getting harder and harder to keep the lad benched. Over the last 5 or so months, I'd say he's been our best performing striker.

I don't disagree, but I'd put him as one of the attacking three with Eriksen and Lamela. He played well there in preseason with Soldado. I actually don't get it. Pochettino is looking for a player who can play on the wing or as a striker for the left side of the attacking three, Kane fits the bill perfectly and was very successful there in preseason, and now it seems he won't get a look in. I'm afraid we're afraid of playing 2/3 of our strikers at once for fear of making it clear we needed to get another striker last window.

Young players can progress very quickly. Kane has gone from "I guess he's okay mopping up," to, as you say, pushing Ade as our best striker. Funny how neither one can take a pen to save their lives.

Yeah Kane at LWF could work and certainly have some good competition with Chadli for the position. Poch doesn't seem to favour either Lennon or Townsend much at the moment so having Kane there to push Chadli and vice-versa is only healthy for the team.

I was always a fan of Kane since he made his debut against Hearts in Europa but similar to what you say, over the years I only really initially saw him as an impact player more so than a first teamer but the progression he's made in the last 6 or so months is really encouraging, especially as Ade is 31 in the new year, we may have a ready made replacement. He's really filled out a lot too, was quite a skinny lad for the most part but it seems as though he's spent a bit of time in the gym, the fact he's now what, 6"2 (?) as well makes him an imposing figure.

He created so many chances against Limassol after getting the assist against West Ham, I think he might be just the player to provide space and chances for Lamela and Eriksen. The fact he works so hard is a big plus as well.

I like the look of Kane, think he's going to develop really well.

Swap for Wickham like? We'll through in Fletcher.

Can't we just wait til the summer and get Wickham for nothing? <whistle>

What's gone wrong with Fletcher at Sunderland? He started so well, then disappeared through injury and just hasn't come back the same.
Did he get really badly hurt? I can't remember.

You won't get him for nowt mate it will go to tribunal due to his age, so I'd imagine it would be around £5-6million, unless he has a **** season, which could easily happen.

Fletch, he just isn't interested mate, he is fit, and he was superb pre-season, outstanding off the bench for Scotland, but he looks like he's lost heart here, he struggles with the style of play under Gus, in that he needs a better touch and he needs to play back to goal a lot more as we build up a lot slower and have a lot more possession.

He's a goalscorer, he needs to play in a side that can carry a player who is there purely for goals, we aren't at that level yet.

He's lost a lot of fan support due to his perceived attitude and lack of interest, it's tough to turn that tide.

He'll be having a stint at Standard Liege first, before Spurs buy him. ;)

Yeah, we like him too. He sort of went under the radar a bit, I think perhaps after we'd seen the "new Defoe" Obika turn into such a disappointment(are own fault for overhyping him) people were a bit more wary and I also think it plays against him that he always looked older than the other players at youth level/ It's always difficult to judge a player that does well at youth level if they're tall and strong or fast, like Kane. When they make the move up to seniors they find they're not as strong, or fast, or tall compared to the opposition so they can't beat players as easily. Kane seems to take every step in his stride though, and I'd be really surprised if he doesn't have a future with England, he just needs to improve his finishing but the rest of his game is developing well.

If you're short a striker you can have the "new Drogba" Coulibaly, he's nearly as good, I promise :D

Anyway best of luck after tomorrow, as Spurs fans we can sympathise a lot with the long suffering Mackems.

We have that fear of course, already been rumors of this kinda deal involving West Ham. If his mentality is he fancies West Ham he can go **** himself anyway, when they play in front of a half empty stadium nowhere near the clubs heart, they will fall apart.

Aye, we know all about 'the next...' we've had 30 or son next Phillips, most have been released and fallen down the leagues.

You know, it's one of them, you look at him he looks like he really wants to be a footballer, like he's enjoying it out there, and that means a lot now.

From the first time I seen him to now, the development has been superb, good to see a young English player getting games at such a big club.

Be a great atmosphere as always tomorrow I guess, underrated in the value of your away support I feel, good numbers, always vocal, obviously slightly biased when I say ours is the best, but then, the Premier League official poll agreed with me ;).

We are way better than we showed you at the Lane last time out, I think that's obvious, but I do still worry about goals, and about a lack of pace CB and RB that Pocc may well be savvy enough to exploit.

I still fancy us to nick a 2-1, but win, lose or draw could easily happen in this kinda game.

Obika not becoming the new Defoe was a wake up call for us, as when a young player as highly rated as Obika doesn't make the grade then you realise making a sound prediction on young players means we all rate young players that never fulfil the potential we hope, but still Obika is the player we all had high hopes for.

I've rated Wickham for a while and when Sunderland where looking for a new manager I said best man for the job is Pulis which back then was met with laughter and I also mentioned '' what about Wickham, why isn't he getting a look in? '' he has good ability but was signed by Bruce for a huge fee, called the new Alan Shearer but wasn't played so it's no wonder it's taken a while for him to find his game again.

Lloris, Dier, Kaboul, Chiriches, Rose; Dembele, Capoue; Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli; Adebayor.
Subs: Vorm, Fazio, Naughton, Lennon, Stambouli, Townsend, Kane.

Vertonghen is supposedly being named captain on Monday, yet he doesn't feature at all. Must be injured, I guess. Hope it's nothing serious.
