Portsmouth was a totally different situation to ours. We're a progressing Premier League Club with a good side with massive potential, not a Club getting in trouble for money fiddling like Portsmouth. All potential buyers of Portsmouth would know already they were on a downward spiral. We're the polar opposite at the moment. And assets are irrelevant considering the owner could buy the KC easily, probably pretty cheap too, and help an already progressing team (that's appealing to new investors) earn them more money.
It may have been babbling bollocks but I can bet you a £ to a bucket of pig **** that the message that Hull City is for sale will reach places it otherwise wouldn't have done due to the mad old bastard.
Just woken up out here in BC and trying to troll through all of the comments on this strange news conference. I have a lot of time for David Conn as a football writer and one who has been very fair to us over the years. This comment and OLMs response really struck me. What is going on!!!
How can assets be irrelevant, what do you think helps to give a club value, Everyone assumes the any new owner will come and pump money into the club, (Like buying the stadium etc) surely we have had enough owners over the years to realise that that isn't the case. I just hope it isn't a case of better the devil you know
Fair play to Assem Allam.. Although i dont agree with the name change, I like the fact that he's still FULLY COMMITTED to the club until either the FA allow the name change (which wont happen" or until he sells it. Either way the club is secure, we have a brilliant manager and the best squad of players we've ever had. Too many ppl on here seem to look for any opportunity to have a go at the Allams, but at the end of the day, its never been better being a city fan, the manager, the promotion, the players, Europe, everything we're enjoying really.. and THAT is thanks to the Allams.
Nothing yet point is if Mr Allam goes then you will lose his continuing investment. Of course you will keep the name-great.
Apparently just a million. That was this secret he said he was given us, and yet I swear that we heard about this extra shirt sponsorship a few months ago when the name issue came up, so I don't think it was anything new at all.
I knew the whole thing was a dream. I should have taken the blue pill not the red one. Damn you Morpheus. Anyone got a cyanide tablet?
regardless of sides, having listened to the announcement on the Radio (before even Blunderside cut it) , if it wasn't so sad for the club / fans & even Allam's, it would have been funny (though I did laugh at times) I don't know about the court of arbitration , I wonder if Ehab should approach the court of protection regarding his fathers capacity & decision making ...
Only problem with that Happy is, that even if the supporters trust had 50,000 members and access to 100m pounds of funding, Assem Allam would not entertain the deal.
You're right, it does say it all when a journalist can't spell "Arbitration". Top notch there. I know you lot like to nit pick and read between the lines etc, but the way I heard it was that an appeal was being lodged, not had been already. The impression I got was that they are working on an appeal. Hardly any rush is there?
It's not 'any opportunity' to have a go at Assam. He's a lying, deceiving, vain **** and I don't care how much money he ****ing adds to the loan he gave us. How much cum has he loaned your stomach and chin? You seem to have room for lots more.
Allam himself said an appeal was lodged weeks ago, do listen. And David Conn is one of the most highly regarded sports journalist in the country.
