I completely disagree with his wish to change their name but totaly respect his stance & integrity.

Hope he finds the right buyer & at a price that is fair to both parties.

    A bit nit-picking about 22 or 24 hours though.

I can see why you'd say that, unfortunately his stance is due to a petulant spat with the local Council, and his integrity is doubtful for many reasons, more recently, in today's conference he says he's lodged an appeal, but neither the FA or arbitration body CAS have received one. He doesn't even know what we're called...seriously.

I don't think TF would ever try and change our name.

If I can't play striker then I am going home and taking my ball with me.

    Thanks for your reply.

You would know far more than any of us what the actual facts are. Just looking in from the outside he would seem honourable, but many have failed that description when they have been put to the test!

I still hope that my second sentence happens though.

Cheers for that, I'd love him to get the right buyer, but it's unlikely to be soon. In the meantime, he's building us a fantastic squad, albeit with loans to the club from his company.

He reckons if it isn't sold before his appeal is rejected (which despite his claims doesn't look to have been submitted) he's said he'll give the club away for free. Would you rush to offer a good price knowing his grounds for appeal involve him not knowing our name?

His argument for appeal is that it makes business sense to shorten our name to "Hull Tigers". Now some of you may think that's longer, but he thinks we've been called Hull City Tigers for the past 110 years.

All this during what should be a golden era for your supporters too - that's the sort of thing that would normally happen at QPR. Are you making an attempt to steal our "Drama" moniker from us?

<laugh>Your manicured fingers are curled too tightly round the drama medallion.

Sadly I think despite these being the best ever years on the pitch, there's a lot feel they've never felt so remote and detached from the club. The fan base is changing, as a lot of older school are doing away's only if they can, getting replaced by Prem fans.

This stems from him making an optimistic bid to take ownership of the stadium and surrounding land from the local council. Unfortunately, the Councillor he dealt with is a dinosaur, and publicly insulted him. That's what's lead to him wanting to obliterate the word "City".

If he'd gone about it the right way, I reckon a lot of fans would have backed him in his bid. Unfortunately he just digs himself deeper and deeper in.

I think that is what happens when smaller clubs get better and make it to the prem, of course I want QPR to win every game, gain promotion and play with the big boys, but I also think I enjoyed supporting QPR more when they are in a lower league, had a great day at Wembley in May but honestly wouldn't have minded playing champ footy again. I really enjoyed going to grounds in the bad old days of league 1. Not that happy just wanting to stay in the league being the goal this season. At least the club QPR try to connect with fans, at least pay lip service.

I heard he's asking £100 million, he'll be lucky to get half that. Leeds, basket case as it is, would represent a far better prospect at a fraction of that price...

You won't have heard that from a credible source as he won't put a price on it.

The bid before Celini for Leeds was £7million.

To be fair, I heard it included a contribution they wanted keeping quiet for 'business' reasons. After all, there's quite a demand for Nectar points.

Bit of a tough one for me TBH. I have nothing against Hull and they look to be doing alright. Had a great transfer window and look a good team.
Not sure about the name change. From an outside view, whats the diffrence between Hull and Hull Tigers? No one calls then Hull City anyway.
Having said that, I'd hate our name to be changed so i can understand the resistance.
I wonder, if he pledged 100Mil over 2 years on players, and almost gauranteed prem survival...would that make the supporters come around.

I'd like to see the age groups of those opposing his name change. Not sure how many 8-20 yr olds would care if they were promise prem footy for the next 5 years.?

Not meant as a derogatory post, just an observation <ok>

What about Queens Park Airbus ?
Seriously though, we all no doubt appreciate new owners pouring squillions into a club but the FA need to show some direction here and make it fact .....................

1- Name of clubs cannot be changed.
2 - Club colours cannot be changed, only the away shirts to some extent.
3 - That all new perspective owners are given an FA guideline manual to read before they commit to a given club, that way, everybody knows their boundaries.
