http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7011084,00.html Just another name to throw into the striker mix!
That link came about sometime ago i with the strikers we are being linked with i would rather Maynard, CMS, Derbyshire, Nugent ahead of Ched Evans
It's in the Sun today about him being quizzed over a sex attack in a budget hotel: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3645691/Wales-star-Ched-Evans-quizzed-over-sex-attack.html This is disgusting! I am ouraged and appalled that we should be considering such a player. I mean....a budget hotel.....what's wrong with the Marriot or Hyatt for God sake. Don't touch him Sven!
Not a signing I would be particularly pleased with. His goalscoring record at the Blunts is average to say the least. Plenty of better strikers out there, most of whom we are supposedly in negotiations for/with
I suppose he would be happy to sit on the bench having just been relegated to League 1, whereas Waggy and Howard wouldn't. Surely he won't be anything more than a squad player.
With all the quality players we are being linked with, why the hell is this player being linked or in the mix? We have better than him at the club, we need to improve not get the same!
The link is clearly because Evans was a young player Sven had at Man City. I've no problems Sven going for the likes of Mills who was also a City youngster at the time, but Evans' career has been on a downward spiral ever since he joined Sheff Utd, he isn't going to help us at all.
Any stats on him ? goals per game for SUFC ? goals scored last season ? price ? or is that still...price I mean.
I seem to remember a lot of O'Neill's signings raised eyebrows. A washed up striker who was rotting away in Indonesia, a scruffy git best known for playing for Ipswich, two unknown midfielders from Crewe, a central defender from lower league Oxford...need I go on? Many of the players O'Neill signed were hungry for success at a higher level or had had a degree of failure recently in their careers and were chomping at the bit to put it right. It seems Nugent and Evens could fit into the latter category.
