Mafia new game sign up thread

That is one possible role.


additional roles:

1. Doctor. are innocent they can vote to protect someone (including themselves) from assassination. This does not include the voted execution as the doctor will be lynching you along with the rest. You must PM who you want to protect. you cannot keep protecting the same person each night

2. second investigator

3. the town mayor. They will be publicly elected each morning. and will get an extra vote to cast. As in double vote

4. double voter - a secret double vote for one player on innocent side and they cast their vote in PM to me each day.

5. prostitute - a mafia role similar to investigator. They get to go check out who's out after dark. they will not know why that perosn was out (could be investigator, doctor, vigilante) once the mafia prostitute finds something they can PM me to block that personas public vote. If thsi occurs it could change the vote to a tie and i flip a coin Or they could in the case of a tie change vote and I would announce only that the vote failed due to blackmail

6. the witness - if the mafia assassinate someone there will be an innocent witness. This person will be pm'd with the mafia don's name. This makes assasination risky for the don forcing later use of the tool.

7. The body guard. If a third mafia is added at start they can protect the don or investigator form vigilante.. but must chose one or other each night. Only good if vigilante can kill multiple times.

I will be needing a town name. I'm open to suggestions but palookaville is not a good town name and neither is having a cheese/warrington variety. I can only imagine the state of play if we had that.

For years the residents have resisted the lure of easy money from the legalization of gambling but recently Don giovanni has moved into town and is determined to take over and turn Denise's bar into a brothel and legalize drinking, gambling and build a casino called the cheese.

can the residents fend off the scourge of every night being a cheese night or will the mafia have their way...

If you have a read of the last thread (first couple of pages) it will make much more sense

 

Game starts Monday- best way to learn is to play (or read an old game thread). Basically, once the game starts- you pick one person you think is Mafia and try to vote them off... each night person with most votes is killed.

You basically have to look for clues as to who is guilty. You'll get the knack of it by playing after a day or too... first day your votes are likely to be random anyway- very little way to know who is random on day one.

It was brand new to everyone. As you can see in first few pages it was confusing to most people- but I think most people got the idea by the end. First game you play is always a bit of a learning curve- but only takes one game to get the idea.

 

I have 16 names now which is great. This means that I will add one more mafia for sure (3 at start or maybe 4) and revert to two town investigators.

 

You counting Queenslander? Not actually committed to play yet.
