Ok as I have said I'm watching 24 at the moment and quite enjoying series 1. I have heard that it gets silly as it goes on and want to possibly leave it before this is the case.

Is there a point where things are wrapped up nicely before it gets crap?

I agree... i am sorry but it was of its time and a great initial series based on a concept but like other shows it gets very very raggedy when you start to expect us to believe a guy has 9 separate 24 hour crises.

    And the script was poor.

24 series 1 and 2... for sure... not even sure about series 3 bt thats just me.

Nice one - my type of film <ok>

Is it based on a true story? One of the reasons Midnight Express is in my top 5 films ever made is due to it being based on a true story.

On 24 - I agree the first 2 seasons were enough for me. I didn't even go further than that, I read too many reviews that just said it became repetitive so quickly. Series 1 is very very good.

Similar to Prison break - Only watch season 1 and season 2. Season 3 and 4 ruin it completey. I actually think series 2 of prison break is up there with some of the best TV dram series.

The Wire - watch it all. Then watch it again and again and again. Pure genius, and easily imo the best TV show ever made to date.

prison break is stupid after two series for sure.. i mean seriously.... after that point the characters have to be considered incompetent and so i think fi you have a concept rotate actors. the wire did this.

but.... the wire... Yes its a bit dated now... no that doesn't hurt ti at all. series 1, series 2... I have issues with the schools series. i don't like it so much...

  16. I've not watched it but I've considered it a few times. Quite a few people have told me to just watch the first two series <ok>

Agree with pretty much all of what you have said here! <ok> Especially the Wire, deffo the best series ever, thought I would say The Sopranos and Game of Thrones run it close now.

Also to all who haven't......watch Season 1 of Heroes....it is excellent, but under no circumstances watch beyond that, as the next seasons are some of the worst turd ever shat out onto film.
But watch Season 1, it really is great.

Yeah they may run close - but there is no chance they'll be looked back on as The Wire is. ****ing incredible - the book is just as good too, also by David Simon.
