"A new twist?" probably something like another ballot of the fans on us becoming Hull City Tigers? The FA will no doubt turn this latest idea down again so it is a waste of time. If it is all about a name change then AA is banking on our recent outlay on new players to bribe some fans into voting for his proposed new name whatever it might be.
Looks like it's working though if that is the plan. Look at how many people have popped up on here now defending him since deadline day for things he did long before then.
Anyway what time does the press conference start tomorrow? I'm gonna tune into RH at work if possible.
A fair few pass holders walked away that could possibly had stayed had they got support from the fans group during the period around the stand move.
I am local and I have seen 20 minutes ago 4 Smartly suited Oriental men take out their luggage from a taxi , outside The Holiday Inn. I asked the driver , and he said , he had picked them up from the Airport. ( which airport???) Coincidence?
And if you've changed your view point over the name change to support it just because we've signed some half-decent players then you're a weapons-grade ****shaft....
I’m jumping the gun here, but if this is all about him bullying to force through a name change, my position will change from campaigning to save the name, to actively campaigning for Allam’s removal. I suspect those immune to his bullshit will feel the same. Let’s hope it’s nothing of the sort tomorrow but mention of it stirs up these feelings.
He didn't call a press conference last time he was doing it and isn't he doing an open floor question session aswell? I'm not sure he'd cope with all the interigation he'd get as I'd hope there'd be stronger journos in there than Amanda Thompson (no disrespect)who interviewed him last time (I think it was her, appologies if it wasn't)
Back to square one if this name change comes up again tomorrow. Fingers crossed it is either the owner passing it on to the son or we are getting a new owner. If anybody has changed their opinion on the owners name change concept based on our transfer activity I'd be pretty surprised, doesn't take the logic of Mr Spock to work out that changing the name is just a load of old bollocks as Ritchie from Bottom would have it
If it is the name change again, then he really has f*****g lost the plot. Part of me was hoping he was behind the biggest double-bluff marketing stunt the premier league has seen. The name change bollocks first time round, combined with the FA Cup run and the Europa League campaign probably got us more fame as Hull City than anything we had done before - I honestly believe at the start of this season, we were probably the second "City" people would name in PL - given that the first were the champions, and we had only been up a season, that was an incredible position to be in. To give up the brand recognition Hull City has now is ridiculous. Whatever arguments there were against the name change last time, they're 10x stronger now. Hull City is known. I felt mildly optimistic earlier tonight. A watershed could have been coming. That Angus Young tweet has thoroughly depressed me, however. Please god don't let this **** start all over again.
Why would he bring up the name change again, unless it is to compromise that we will be hull city tigers!
I am a Staunch Supporter Of The Allam's. If It is a Name Change Debste For The Fans. Then i will b Miffed at The Family. even it is their latest marketing strategy. or media wrangling to generate Interest. Too much too soon. Overkill.
That's not a compromise, though, is it? That was the original name that people were opposing. The campaign was not against "Hull Tigers" per sé, it was against the name change. Hull City Tigers is still a name change. Aside from the fact that it makes us sound like a **** Bay City Rollers tribute act, it would stand out a mile in the English game, and not in a good way.
Allam maybe thinks it is, I hate the sound of it! ....I really hope its not about the name change! This club really needs to be going forward and I dont think steve bruce or the fans will want another season of that, it may also affect the fans!....a source tells me, the club has been sold!
Half a billion people worldwide watched Hull City on the tv three months ago. It seems curious to want to change such a globally well known name. Stupid. Not curious. That's the word I'm looking for.
