I can't see anything on that glossy poster that promises anything but milk and honey!...

We all know these campaigns are all about slogans and promises which are eye catching, i'm not denying that.

All i'm saying before you dismiss it, have a proper look into both sides and then make up your mind.

Holyrood is currently governed by a party which less than a quarter of the electorate voted for <doh>

Just because SNP voters are more politicised, it does not mean they represent the majority.

At a push only the last 2 could be so described. It is the sort of BS all politicians say. They are trying to comvince people to vote yes!

The rest are facts (true or not) or pledges not to change policy. Being anti the bedroom tax and tuition fees are respectable policies for a country. Although strange given they don't know who will win a subsequent election.

Do we even know the source of the quasi-manifesto King keeps posting?

It doesn't seem to have any official claims of authorship. Looks like it's been knocked together by a 7 year old though.

I posted it once and never said it was an official poster, probably was done by a YES voter who wanted to keep it simple.

I agree... the sky is likely to be a tad less cloudy in real life.

Is that what the Yes campaign have promised? Is that a statement of policy for an Independent Scotland by the current Government?

To use an example of my own, if a Spurs fan on here said Spurs are the Pride of London who will go on to win the Champions league in the next 5 years would it be fair or sensible for me to criticise your whole support and your club for pie in the sky thinking?

    Don't be so stupid.

You made a ridiculous statement on matters where you are clearly ignorant, that's down to you alone.

It's you that's being stupid. That is a campaign poster from your Vote yes campaign. Their claims are hope and a prayer. Trying to sell a utopian dream of a perfect future. Yes, I understand that all political parties make exaggerated claims, but that is a series of ridiculous claims to make!

It seems to me that you have spent far too long in your "location"

<laugh> Deary deary me, that's not a campaign poster, it's a flyer cobbled together by supporters of the Yes campaign, you know, like a one page Fanzine of the type of thing published by football fans. Did you actually think that the SNP or anyone else in power would publish such a mission statement?

It's not official policy any more than a Fanzine is official policy of the Football club it's published in support of. It may be somewhat utopian but when have fans ever been realistic in their dreams? And anyway, it's certainly not Quasi Socialism unless you'd care to point out the bullet points which you think are Quasi Socialism?

Stop reading the Daily Mail and the Sun.

I do not read either, firstly. Secondly, I find your tone both rude and offensive.

That poster must have only been published with the knowledge and consent of the Yes campaign. But, you call it what you want.

The quasi-socialist reference I would have thought was evident in the claims and supposed future policies of the SNP and the Yes campaign. I keep being reminded that they are supposedly two different things.

The vast majority of the SNP's Economic projections are based on oil. It is foolish in the extreme to base a country's whole long term economic future on such a volatile and declining commodity. This is not independence until the oil runs out, but forever!..
