    These were qualifiers, not friendlies.

Both were injured for the friendlies...And even these qualifiers are useless, everybody knows who will qualify, it's only a formality.

That made me chuckle him celebrating with the Arsenal subs on the side before anyone else. He must knnow them pretty well from under 21 games I guess but still great to see.

Likely to be a midfield of Flamini, Wilshere, Ozil  Can't say I like the look of that against a physical city midfield..

Maybe play Rosicky with Ozil? Not sure why Rosicky is being overlooked by the gaffer, but he is one of our stronger on the ball midfielders and tacklers. Wilshere and Cazorla can come on if we need a bit more attacking.

Just get Flamini to take one for the team and cripple Toure... that would even things up in the middle... :p

Wilshire aint gonna make it , he gets out muscled in nearly every tackle .

He has talent for sure but , hes just too small to do the job.
Plus i think Roz is much more creative .

God knows why he dont play him more often .

I agree, I'd have Rosicky in with Ozil and Flamini than Wilshere too. City have a strong midfield so us retaining possession will be key. We can't afford Wilshere being pushed off the ball and losing possession. Rosicky I think will be a good option if Ramsey is out.

Wilshire is too small for the job? Get to f*ck! Football is littered with mini men who've thrived in the game. Messi, Aguero, Suarez, Scholes and Hazard to name but a few. Jack has the potential, plenty of it, he just needs time, patience and to be utilised properly. Not getting broken would be a big help too.

For what it's worth I'd rather Rosicky starts against City as he has a bit more bite about him and I think his pressing would help against the likes of Silva who you can't afford to give time too.

Arteta should be back for this game, the boss said he would be back after internationals, he had a sprained ankle, and it's been 3 weeks now, that should be about it for a sprained ankle.

Just saw the training pics, both Ozil and Arteta are there, no sight of Gibbs though.

Aaron Ramsey: Arsenal midfielder eases injury fears after Wales win

"I'll be alright - the pitch was very hard. There's no give in it so I rolled my ankle a bit," said Ramsey.

"Hopefully it will be nothing and I'll be available for Saturday. These are the games you want to play in and I'm looking forward to it."

Good news, so we should have our full strength midfield out for the big one on Saturday.

Messi is small but he has the skill to avoid being floored .

Wilshire dont , i know he believes he can waltz thru any defence but ..........its not true .

hes forever on his ar$e .

How can that be solved by patience .

I agree that he might be more effective in a different position .

Messi rides tackles and challenges very easily whereas Wilshere, as you say, appears to take a tumble each time he is tackled. Whilst not quite at the level of Ashley Young yet, he is starting to give himself a reputation with referees and is in danger of losing their protection such as it is. This has to be a mindset thing and could take too long to sort out if Wilshere is going to challenge for serious roles at club and country. I know he has suffered from injuries but I am concerned that he is not yet playing at a level expected of him a couple of years back. I hope that he goes on to prove me and other doubters wrong but he and Wenger need to put a shift in on this issue or Wenger may be faced with a difficult decision about Wilshere's future.

Dude, I'm not saying Jack is anywhere near as good as Messi or Suarez, merely that being small does not mean it has to be a hindrance. I genuinely believe he gets fouled a lot more than most due to his style of play but a lot of the time I think he could have kept his feet. Part of that I'm putting down to pyschological reasons as, if I were in his situation, I'd be worried I was going to break again every time I got hit. One thing about him that does wind me right up though is the length of time he appears to spend on the ground sulking after being caught. It's almost every time too!

He'll be fine I think, he'll just need time to work on his fitness and confidence, much like Aaron did.
