Leon is 30 or 31. He has at least 2-3 years top-class performances in front of him. The way he plays the game, it doesn't depend on speed. It depends on cleverness of thought and nimbleness of touch. He is excellent at both. When he gets to 35, then we can start thinking about his replacement. Until then, he'll play every game possible. Just you see!
As we've said before Ki and Britton are very different kinds of player. Britton breaks up play more effectively than Ki on the deck by getting in amongst players coming forward whilst Ki is more of an all rounder who gets forward a bit more and his distribution tends to be better imo. Nice to have options depending on the opposition.
Love Leon, who doesn't. Well named with the heart of a Lion (especially when he played with the bandage round his head). Hope he is up and running ASAP as he always gives us options and works non stop in the heart of the team, however it is also the case that he sometimes can appear ineffectual in certain games. More a case of the opposition tactics rendering him less effective rather than inconsistency from Leon I would say.
You could be on to a winner there. When the top two teams meet it's usually a close match. 2-0 to us at half-time, but Chelsea fight back with a second half goal. We manage to hang on and win 2-1.
Leon can do a job for us but monk will go for the younger guy all day long. Ki will be assessed when he comes back and monk will make a decision on him and as leon is injured then monk will have to rearrange things a bit....Ki is a vital component and the no1 player these days and we will miss his input if he is not deemed ready. He should be ok to start imo....
You guys should field the team that has won 3/3 so far this season, all this talk of resting players or maybe trying this new signing or that new signing......Nah... If last season taught me anything, its that big teams can be hurt at home if the visiting team are organised, have some pace and talent and a little bit of luck, Chelsea more than most dropped points at home to teams (and I mean no disrespect) who we should be beating. I believe last season we got more points against the other top 7 teams than any other teams, but against the other 13 teams, our record was worse than Man Uniteds!!! We do look a slightly different animal so far this season, but its early days and who knows what can happen. I think you guys will go for it and give us a real game!
hahaha. I am talking about last season And as much as you have improved, and have impressed me at times (and I am trying to say this without being patronising) I dont think the top 4 is a realistic target for Swansea this season
I'm with Bodanki on this one. I don't expect you to get anything from Chelsea, but you've had a great start to the season and they don't look as assured defensively as Mourinho's teams normally do. Someone needs to deal with Fabregas, but you're capable of causing them problems at the back and they've got a Champions League tie in the week to think about, too. Keep doing what you've been doing and you've got a shot at shocking them.
If we lose to Chelsea on Saturday there are only 3 teams that can overtake us as Liverpool are playing Aston Villa and they can't both win. Man City have a tough game away at Arsenal and Tottenham go to Sunderland, so it's not inconceivable that we could lose and still stay second
