Which is why I think it's unlikely.
More a case of 'It's sold as long as buyer X passes the FA test' as I said if that it what is happening.

I think that the idea of it being a Russian buyer might be wide of the mark, at least whilst all the Ukraine **** is going on. What Russian is going to risk buying something in the UK with the risk of his assets been seized in another round of sanctions.

Interesting how nobody seems to think it could be an announcement to drop the name change and build bridges.

I think people have bigger dreams and hope has swayed them into thinking the SOB is finally buggering off.

I still think it's going to be an announcement that he is stepping down and handing over the running of the club to Ehab. I'm not sure why people think that's an unlikely reason for him to call a major press conference. Based on his previous behaviour, I would say it's pretty much exactly how I'd expect him to do it. He does seem to enjoy the limelight!

I'm not sure though how all of this affects Allam Marine though unless they have someone lined up as Chief Executive and Ehab steps up to Chairman there also or whether Assam will remain as Honorary Chairman.

We shall have to wait and see but it would be a real shame if it is anything negative, with such a positive vibe on the playing side at the moment.

    Welcome back Phil Buckingham...

Hull City announcement: What are Assem Allam's options and what does the future hold?

As Hull City enter a pivotal point in their history with a major announcement expected from owner Assem Allam, Phil Buckingham looks at some of the questions fans are craving answers to.

So a week after the mother of all deadline days, uncertainty surrounds the future of Hull City. What do we know?

There are more questions than answers at this stage. We are promised all will become clear when owner Assem Allam faces the media tomorrow lunchtime complete with a statement outlining his plans for the club. Only then will clarity return. The Allam family have purposely kept details in-house but changes are certainly on the horizon. Whether that means an outright sale of the club or a lead role for son and vice chairman Ehab remains to be seen, but Assem’s days in charge are numbered. A colourful and sometimes controversial reign, one that began in December 2010, has never felt closer to ending.

Why now? Shouldn’t we all be basking in the positivity of the summer transfer window?

We should but these anticipated changes have been bubbling for much of 2014. Ever since the Football Association rejected the club’s application to become known as Hull Tigers, in fact. Dr Allam promised to “walk away” from City if he could not get his way and the bullish threat still lingers. Things have got in the way that have prevented more immediate action. The FA Cup final in May, a subsequent Europa League adventure and then a busy transfer window have all demanded the owner’s attention but he now feels the time is right to break his silence. City supporters will be all ears.

Does the Hull Tigers saga remain the meaty bone of contention?

It never really went away. Not in Dr Allam’s mind. Just as it did for many supporters, the unsavoury issue left a bad taste. Dr Allam was determined to get his way with a change to Hull Tigers and the resistance met from the FA, as well as a considerable section of fans marching purposefully under the banner of City Till We Die, has not altered his belief. The FA formally rejected his proposal on April 9, following the recommendation given by its membership committee on March 17, and that was a bitter pill for Dr Allam to swallow. Immediately after the verdict there was a claim he would launch an appeal but nothing more has since been said on the matter. What we do know is that Brabners, a law firm specialising in sport, have been consulted by City. The prospect of Dr Allam facing the media tomorrow and not making reference to the Hull Tigers issue is highly improbable. The volume might have been turned down but the record still spins in the KC boardroom.

So what if Dr Allam decides he and his family have had enough and he wants to sell up?

That’s when things would suddenly get very interesting. Some speculation has suggested a deal has already been signed off but that is wide of the mark. Football clubs are not bought and sold like second-hand cars. As a Premier League club City will have attracted some level of interest over the past 12 months. It’s only natural. Pinpointing the club’s value, however, is when it gets awkward. As a club without ownership of its ground and in debt to Allamhouse Ltd to the tune of £72m when accounts were last filed up to July 2013, any takeover of City would need to be carefully considered by a prospective buyer. And these things are seldom straightforward. Aston Villa, one of the seven ever-present Premier League clubs, are no nearer to a sale four months after American businessman Randy Lerner revealed his plans to bail. An optimistic valuation of £200m is scuppering those plans but reminds us a sale is not guaranteed for an owner keen to sell. There is, of course, the option to flog a chunk off to new investors. Companies House say there are 1,316,001 ordinary shares in City, all owned by Allamhouse, but is anyone willing to cut the pie up? That would seem unlikely at this stage but is not impossible.

Here is my thoughts on tomorrow..

I think he is going to say he has a major investor onboard, a new ground at Melton to be built ASAP, and AllamHouse goes from strength to Strength

    One more thing though.
I imagine the manager is in the loop. Now consider this. Would SB allow a player to sign up knowing full well that in 12 months time the club is supposed (sigh) to be liquidated?

Some are saying that Allam is going to threaten to liquidate in 12 months if there in no sale.

Like I say every time AA has talked about SB it has been glowing ao there in no way he won't be in the loop. SB doesn't come across as that much of a ****er.
