http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-salaries-reflect-decline-Italy-s-league.html Crazy, Pogba is on 23k a week!
Damn, he is a top top player and someone I'd love at Arsenal. Not so long ago players like Bendy and Chamakh was on £60k a week!
What is the tax situation in Italy? I know it still means we're paying silly money but it can make a massive difference.
Quite easily actually? He's bringing £92k a month for 12 months. He'd be an idiot if he can't live comfortably off of that. Not sure if you're being sarcastic. Sometimes on the Internet you never know.
Of course he was being sarcastic rofl No-one on this forum is taking home that sort of money and we all manage to survive.
I assumed that. But I've seen so many cases of people being dead serious when you think they're being sarcastic that I just don't take the risk of assuming anymore.
The amount of r-tards in the world is alarming. Also, as nobody answered my question I looked it up and it's almost identical to English taxes so a top earner loses about 42-47%. I fancied they would be on a better deal so I guess it goes to show there's still a huge draw to play in Italy. TBF most of Europe is on the same, bar Monaco *shakes fist*, though I think France were looking at upping it to 75%. Not sure if that has gone through or not yet.
The only reason the Premier lge is flooded with most of the world best players is the wages available, mainly down to the obscene sums Sky are paying clubs these days. Back in the 80s/90s all the money was in Italy and Spain and the best English players strived to play on the continent. I don't see the Sky jugernaut stopping any time soon but it would be nice to think at some point there would be less money floating around in English football which would reduce the attraction for foreign owners which in turn might help help reduce ticket prices and make the match day experience a little more affordable for the majority....
A little more affordable but lower quality. The money means we have the best players playing or wanting to play in The league.
Agree with you that he is incorrect - off by what 100-150k. But seeing as this is a thread about wages it isn't exactly irrelevant. Also Pogba went as a youngster and has firmly established himself last season. I see him getting a hefty pay bump soon - 3-4 times that. Italy can't afford our wages but they can afford to pay good ones.
There were very few foreign superstars around in the 80s but that didn't stop me following Arsenal and being passionate about it. I used to pay 90p to stand in the North bank in 1983, cheapest matchday ticket now what £50 ? So lower quality ? Possibly, but more competetive, 12 different clubs finished 1st , 2nd or 3rd in the decade, the top 3 has been dominated by 4 or 5 clubs for the past 15years, directly as a result of expenditure. I may well be in a minority but I'd love a return to a game that wasn't dominated by the £....
Loosely relevant in that there are wages involved, but irrelevant in that it adds absolutely nothing to the thread, it's just a random player and what he is being paid and doesn't seem to connect in any other way to what has been posted. It's like me posting on the rival thread and just typing "Chelsea" yes they are rivals but wtf good is that to the thread?
Fair play. I thought it was an attempt to turn yet another thread into an arsenal vs utd on the topic of falcao lol Not sure why it says about falcao in the headline but doesn't mention him in the article from what I can see skim reading it. I'd also now take all go wages with a pinch of salt
