Hard to see them losing the match from here. That would put Notts out of the equation - leaving just Warwickshire, who are in a strong position against a sorry Northants side.
Even if we lost this match now, Notts (because they only got 1 bowling point) could only equal our points tally if we failed to get a batting or bowling point against Somerset and lost so they are now out of it. I reckon we'll win this by an innings, if Notts had held their chances they could have had us out for 300 odd easily enough, the pitch is turning a lot and we've got options to turn it both ways with Rashid, Lyth and Root whereas Notts just have Keedy turning it one way. Smash it lads
How so? Surely they can get another 20 from this match and 24 from their last match? They're only 29 behind us as things stand.
My bad.....meant even if we DRAW this match, though with having taken 3 wickets already and the bowling point in the bag.....Notts need a miracle, think someone needs to pass the vaseline round the Notts dressing room because by the looks of it they are going to be seriously anally probed
Don't forget Warwickshire, who are humping Northants. If we don't beat Notts, then Warwicks should beat Sussex next week, weather permitting, meaning we'd have to be careful against Somerset.
With the bowling point it is now impossible for Notts to win the league unless they can turn this game round & beat Yorkshire.....after that doesn't happen it's a two horse race....a Yorkshire win would make them hot favourites for the title
To be fair they did have Samit Patel but he seemed very underused in this match, has he lost form? He started the season very well was calls for him to get in the England test match side.
The whole england spinner thing earier this year was getting a bit like the England football team left wing problem late 90s early 00s when some right muppets got mentioned! Basically Patel isn't actually very good, was outbowled by a 39 year old today in Keedy and carried little threat on a pitch that people were saying was spinning quite a lot
