They have(according to Sky News)the UK's 2nd biggest export....Whisky. They'll all be drunk counting the massive windfall that it will bring and close off Scottish waters to the English oil industry.
You already have, in the same sense of ancient Rome and the surrounding Italy, or provinces as they were then.
According to eminent scientists London will be part of the North Sea in a couple of hundred years due to rising sea levels and global warming, mass migration by the suvveners up north. Hope the roadblocks and barbed wire does the job.
A couple of hundred years is plenty of time to pay some northerners to build a big wall to keep the water out
UK will become the 2nd richest country in the EU behind Germany with or without Scotland. God knows what will happen to Scotland with independence though, the odds aren't good for small EU countries. See Cyprus, Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Iceland etc.
We have the quickest recovering economy in Europe. Hopefully this referendum either way doesn't have too much of an impact on that....
What would be funny. England (uk) drops out of EU. Scotland crashes because of Euro. England,Scotland,Wales, and Ireland form competing "British Union". Full circle back to the whole islands together again.
Watching some vox pop thing on BBC3 just now I can see that the Scots are basically two camps - Nationalists, and those that are scared of Nationalists. I think the Scots will vote for independence, in that there are those that passionately believe in it, and those that don't but realise they'll burned in Wicker-man frames if they don't vote for it. And that's the thing: for all this Braveheart stuff I think the no's are just too scared to stand up for themselves.
From what I've read- a lot of executives have been scared of expressing their opinion for fears it will hurt business. I was listening to an interview with one "no" campaigner and he was saying how he had to stop campaigning because at first he was heckled, but then as the weeks went by it changed to people throwing things at him- and then threatening to kill him and his family. Nationalists are certainly being more aggressive about how they approach the vote.
They've also been incredibly aggressive on social media to any Scot who expresses a "no" opinion. But then all small n nationalism campaigns tend to be aggressive, in language, usually point at an enemy without or within and usually have a small section who jump at the chance to be more than verbally aggressive. It's because they dont want anyone calm enough to realise their campaign is built on nothing but the myth and emotion built up in all their furious shouting......
I don't ever, normally, agree with Tories, but one of the Nats just tried to pull the Salmond one about the NHS being privatised and Tesco vans for ambulances guff (bloody true this side of the border soon) and was politely reminded by that dyke conservative woman (now that's got to be a protected minority!) that the Nats have had complete control of the NHS budget in Scotland for seven years.
What a nasty vicious little bastard Salmond is! He can barely hide his hatred for the English in the BBC interview I have just seen. If this is politics that prevails in Scotland then they are welcome to it for we are better than this.
