Lovely to get back from a short holiday to see the best news of the year so far. The senile old buffoon is buggering off! Forgive me for not believing it til I see it, it just seems too much of a dream. Going to be pinching myself all day! The day he leaves there'll be street parties in Hull and it will become a local holiday day off work.
Assem Allan is not being forced out. The value to the club of changing its name was never in sponsorship but in its sale value to new investors. 4 years from multi million pound losses to breakeven , is a huge result, combine that with all that is in place for the season and the club is possibly the best buy in football. A sale of 49% of Allamhouse , with Ehab remaining as Chair, new investor, move to new stadium and an attack on HCC. But what if Assem says he will gift a twenty percent share of the club in the form of a share sale to supporter if HCC transfer ownership of the KC to the SMC. Saint or sinner?
Interesting thought. There could definitely be some value in a ploy to give any new owner instant popularity with (almost) all the fans. How much could that really be worth?
Any talk of Assem being "forced out" is quite ridiculous. The man is in his late 70s - retirement (or partial retirement) is inevitable at some point, be it now or in the future, but it's going to be sooner rather than later. If he decides to put his feet up, it's because he's elderly, not because of some imaginary campaign to "force" him out. Sheesh...
So we go from " no one tells me how to run my business " to driven out by a small minority called CTWD. From the man who never go back on his word. Pah. As always TWT
I still think it will be a simple announcement saying AA is stepping down and Ehab taking over all the businesses. It will probably cite some health issues and a thinly veiled reference to the name change disappointment as a factor.
I'm not certain that would be a anti-climax. We keep owners who have probably been the best we have ever had but instead of the mad dad we have the more level headed son who it would seem has been running the show for a while anyway. The key difference is that unlike his dad he isn't tainted my the name change issue as it wasn't him that came out with most of the explosive comments.
The only downside to the club not being sold, is that the issue of the stadium size will not be addressed, which is a crying shame(that's assuming the name change nonsense doesn't start again).
True although if you get Assem out of the way Ehab maybe willing to go back to the council to at least see where the land lies.
