I don't get this argument. Those areas do not feel any affinity to Hull. Why would they? Just "being near" means fook all, especially when it means not near at all. Success attracts fans. The question is, do you want the sort of fans attracted to a club for purely that? I think a healthy mix of locals and "transients" is probably best, but it's always going to piss the "wet Tuesday in Torquay" brigade off.
You never seem to answer the question. To answer yours, I can't imagine such a self assured man to be perturbed or influenced by a "minority" of noisy "gobshites". You obviously think he can, I'm surprised.
People mention AA as a man with local interests at heart, but I have my doubts. Failure to work past differences with Hull CC stops the Council making use of the fact we're in the Premier League, apparently blocked idea of bus tour which would promote the city and create revenue, and talk of moving to Melton which would take a hell of a lot of revenue from the City (and make it harder for fans east of the city to get too). Don't get me wrong though, I don't think AA is a bad chairman, just a bit stubborn. I also don't think that many owners have interests beyond themselves. Whether it's profit, prestige, or just something to keep them amused for a couple of years I doubt the fans are high in their list of priorities.
Completely agree. For all the Hull Tigers arguments (and I too think Allam has this totally wrong), we are still a club with a soul. Great bloke as manager, good bunch of, yes rich, but honest, hard-working players, friendly ground staff in the main (they look after my 77 old Mum - a flasker and proud, BTW), etc. Winning cos we have 500 mill to spend on players is meaningless.
The idea that Assem is going to be scared out of town by those nasty football fans is laughable. He's the one who's told the fans to **** off and die. All CTWD did was hold an entirely respectful campaign against his idea.
Yeah that's laughable an all. All these things that people will just forget about when he splashes the cash. It's so shallow.
Of course I'm bitter about it. My football club is quite important to me. What's wrong with that? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember you being pissed off at all this nonsense a while ago, now since deadline day you won't have a bad word said about the man.
Easily forgetting and stubbornly never forgetting is equally laughable depending on what your forgetting I suppose....just saying like.
What nonsense are you referring to? I get pissed off with quite a few things, could you be a little more specific?
Assem Allam from day one planned to either sell or gift the club. The fact is that the first question that any investor has ever asked me about Hull City, has been about the ownership of the stadium. Assem Allam has produced a remarkable turnaround by any standards. CTWD and the name change is simply a side issue that beyond the local area, has not damaged the value of the club. In fact whilst it painted Assem Allam as some sort of monster, it gave the club a media presence. Maybe not the best profile, but after the FA cup run as well, perhaps, not all bad. I would not be surprised if we have a curve ball let loose by Assem. I do think he will provide a bit of a shock and no matter what happens there will be a polarised view on here and amongst the supporter groups.
Well if he gives the club to me I'll likely fook everything right up - as I've not been invited to any press conference we're safe there though....

Where you one of the 47 who braved it to Exeter in '91? constant drizzle, ****er of a ref, 0-0 though not.. **** off flasker
So if you agree with CTWD you are a gobshite? I've followed this great Club which is Hull City AFC for over 45 years and find it very offensive being called a gobshite by someone, quite rightly, has a different opinion to mine. Think before you call people who've you never met and never had a conversation with.
