But what highly original name wwill they give him/her? I reckon Edward for a boy and maybe Elizabeth for a girl
or Knowshit? Actually it should be a real English royal name....like Ãlfred or Ãthelstan. With Winchester as their capital, of course!
She deserved to be queen instead of Edward because she basically led the army to victory after victory and cleared the Vikings out of most of England.
Then as soon as she dies, he got rid of her daughter...obviously wouldn't dare act while she was around.
I wonder if she'll have any more after this one. now they have the heir and the spare. if she gets so sick while pregnant, is it worth putting yourself through that again?
Three seems to be the magic number, though as you said sickness would put you off. My friend had it with her first, but had four more with little trouble...the last 4 were girls though so I guess they are less trouble
sometimes this extreme morning sickness lasts till the last trimester. she's not even 12 weeks yet so that's months of feeling horrendous. don't know if be able to do it again. of course girls are less trouble, I was much smaller and quicker to come out than my brothers
A woman being denied her throne right and being basically being erased out of history? What a shocker.
Not quite as simple as that though. She was "Lady of the Mercians" and Edward was king of Wessex. Wessex was always going to outrank Mercia (post Alfred). Most of the fighting took place on Mercian territory and she had the job of rousing the Mercian people to reclaim their kingdom(along with her hubby Ãthelred). Edward had other things to do, like rule Wessex, defend the coastline, penetrate into East Anglia and support Mercia. She may not have had the fair share of the limelight that she deserved (although she WAS rightly famous) but the revisionist approach seems to be one of discounting the role of Edward. They co-operated and both understood their respective roles in the reconquest of English territory, a task started by Alfred and finished by Ãthelstan (first King of England).
I'm rather impressed in your ability to find such letters on the net and bringing them to us. A little copying and pasting from Wiki maybe..?
