So you don't see Sanogo as a long term prospect....

Not really. I have nothing against him except:

    He can't shoot
    He can't pass
    He can't control a ball
    He has no positional sense
    He can't beat a player

Apart from that, I quite like him.

But the most important attribute of all... Does he have 'UNIT' capabilities?

whilst in general I agree with you, I have a feeling that, in time, he will prove us wrong to doubt him - I hope so any way.........

I would really like to see what fans thought of Ramsey a few seasons ago. He was really vilified...... I remember a time when Spurs fans used to say every time Bale played they lost. It is amazing how us fans gets it spectacularly wrong.
AW must see something in Sanogo, us mortals fail to see, otherwise why would he fast track him into the first team over the likes of Chuba Akpom, the other bloke on loan to MK Dons? I would be happy to for AW to prove us all wrong again!

They did. Not me. I generally don't slate our players as I support the team.

Have we actually confirmed Wales is a country? I just assumed it was a suberb of Liverpool or something and nowt good comes from there.

I still don't think the intention was to have Sanaogo anywhere near the first team yet but injuries forced Arsene's hand. Course, you could ask why we were so light in the first place that we had to resort to him...

Numbers-wise I think we look ok (now) and it's a varied group.

Big lads capable of hold up play - Giroud, Welbeck, Sanogo...
Pace merchants - Sanchez, Walcott, Welbeck
Capable of beating players - Sanchez, Campbell
C*nting the ball as hard as possible - Podolski!

Only Sanchez stands out to me as properly decent but the rest, Sanogo aside, are solid team players. You could probably easily upgrade a few of them but at least we have options these days, assuming we ever varied out tactics <whistle>

For me this is our biggest issue rather than missing Giroud or getting another striker in. It's our inability to alter our style of play to match the players we have. We've been playing Sanchez up front but our tactics haven't changed. They may work for a big UNIT up front like Giroud, but players like Sanchez, Campbell and Welbeck to a lesser degree, need a strategy to suit. I think we have some quality forward players, but we need to adapt to play to their strengths. If we continue to follow a rigid strategy, then we will continue to struggle to break down the tougher teams or when Giroud is injured or off form.

Yaya Sanogo has warned Danny Welbeck he will have to fight him for a start at Arsenal. French forward Sanogo faces increased competition from the England striker, a £16m arrival at the Emirates a week ago, but he told L'Equipe:

He (Welbeck) is going to have to battle for his place in the side.

Wales is a democratic socialist people's republic and one of the many things that comes out of here is Aaron Ramsey <grr>

I also saw an interview where he says he knows there will be competition at a club like arsenal but wenger has told him to get his head down and work hard. He thinks if he does, after he gets that first goal the flood gates will be opened.

He obviously has some confidence in himself. He just needs to hit the back of the net!

We had another striker who had bags of confidence too <whistle>. Seriously though, he clearly has talent but he needs some time to settle and develop further. Playing for a club the size and stature of Arsenal will only give him limited chances. Unless he suddenly clicks right now, he will be better placed on loan elsewhere, especially as Welbeck has come in with miles more experience and at the top of the pecking order.

Yeah I think for now he will stick around for squad depth but unless he finds his shooting boots before January I'd imagine he will go out on loan either for the rest of this season or next season.

In the meantime, stick him in for the cup games and see what he does.

Yeah definitely, wenger obviously sees something in him so he needs to get chances to play, especially since he is one of two main cf options while giroud is out.
