A ballot on name change would mean nothing to a new buyer, he would want to take over now, not wait until the FA got round to saying "no" again. If AA sells he would be selling for a profit (even if that profit is only the interest received on his loans). The kudos and prestige of having taken a club from the Championship into Europe in so few years is all he needs. It's almost the final piece in his jigsaw.
I disagree with olm, any agreement to sell would be subject to the subsequent Premier Leagues approval, so no need for anything to be in the public domain even assuming the story has any legs anyway!
Chris Dawkes @chrisdawkesITV Expecting a statement from the Allams within the next 48 hours amid speculation they could sell #hcafc @itvcalendar
This Because he has spent a fair bob or two and brought in decent players , would he now expect the 'minority' to become the majority .
Probably a wind-up, but someone's claiming we're about to be bought by Vagit Alekperov. For those not familiar with him, he's the 55th richest man in the world with a net worth of $14.8b. If it is him, we might well get some additional seats.
"He had to work in extreme conditions on oil platforms. On one occasion, an explosion on his rig threw him into the stormy Caspian sea, and he had to swim for his life." (Wiki) I like him, it'll be like being owned by a minted Chuck Norris
Add to that the dilution of the fan base as people don't renew passes and are replaced by Premier League followers. I said at the time the fans group shot themselves in the foot with their lack of support for fans.
Oh god no. An owner who's name could be shortened to "Vag"? We'd be the laughing stock of the whole football system in the UK. Now stop been ****.
So....if City is being sold to a foreign oligarch, it ain't my fault. Nor CTWD. Nor Obi, OLM, etc. No - it'd be the Allams who were selling it. Absorb that, folks.
A fair few of these oligarchs, come in, splash a bit of cash, sack a few coaches, bring their own men in, lose interst and then **** off. I'd rather be owned by somebody that worked to make the club survive through their own industriousness, than someone who could have us a plaything. Of course, there are notable exceptions to the above and I know nothing of Mr Alekperov, it's just a general comment on ownership.
Might be a shot in the dark, but it might explain our transfer dealing, we've spent a lot of money in the window not just in fee's but wages as well ,don't think anybody really knows what the statement about, if it is a take over, the Allam's have done brilliant keeping it under the radar.
Any truth in the completely unsubtantiated rumour that the rumour that the Allams are selling up is rumoured to be to the sultan of Brunei ?
