Gouff should be dropped with immediate effect. Nothing more than an average squad player, even given our squad size.

Sad that after 4 years of the same ****e manager we don't have a defined formation/style

Yep, I've said this many times, find it pathetic that we just don't have an identity as a football club. We're easier to recognise by our transfer "strategy" and balance sheet than by our style of play.

How many players do we have from 4 years ago though? Of the starting line up, maybe 4 (Colo, Krul, Willo, Tiote?) Players dictate the style of play and formation. Don't get me wrong most clubs will probably have similar turnover. The difference is their managers are dictating who they buy.

As there is zero co-ordination between our transfer policy and coaching philosophy, this will continue regardless who we put in charge. I'm not saying I'd like Pardew in control of transfers, most would prefer a different manager. However if we are going to buy players for the manager, then we do need a DOF to make that work. Otherwise you just have organised chaos. Pardew tries to claim he has input, but for 3 or 4 windows he has asked for players, and asked for English players. His squad is still no bigger despite turnover and only this window has seen English players, and only one he can use right now. It doesn't add up to him being involved. I prefer a manager led transfer policy anyway. You look at someone like Martinez who I think a lot would have liked to see here. He tells them what he wants to fit his philosophy. I'm not against DOF styles as they work abroad. The DOF needs to be co-ordinating with the manager though or have a very defined knowledge of what the club is tring to achieve.

What we are doing seems a bit backward to me. We are taking responsibility away from the manager, making him a head coach. Then we have a deal maker who may be very good at negotiating good fees but has no football knowledge/background. Then we are scratching our head saying, why is this not working? Its not working for the same reason our squad never gets better or bigger, the same reason we have a cheap manager who is distinctly average, we are cheap ass in the way we do things. We are the football club equivalent of Sports Direct.

Indeed it is not too surprising from a business point of view. ****e for the fans, but its ages since that mattered to be fair. Hey you never know, maybe we will grow and grow like Sports Direct. Never getting any better or providing a better product, but always coining it in.

Sadly our illustrious owner misses the point that without getting any better or providing a better product, NO football team can grow!

Need to go 4-4-2. Not because I prefer it as a formation but because with the current 4-2-3-1 we simply aren't getting enough bodies up to support Rivierre. He's been very isolated in all three games so far.

I think 4-3-3 would personally work better. I think 4-4-2 would require we play defensively astitute wingers. I don't think Aarons can cover Haidara very well, and I think it's best we leave the defensive cover to our DM's, because we'll have to resort to playing the likes of Gouffran and Sissoko on the wing who are defensively astute but rarely put a decent ball into the box.

I played this formation the other day against Sunderland in Fifa:

    -------------Cisse---------------

    Cabella-------------------Sissoko

    -------------Colback------------

    ----Tiote------------Anita--------

    --------Colo -- Willo --Janmaat----

    ---------------Krul----------------

Janmaat got horrifically injured and I had to bring that c**t Saylor on and it sadly went all to s**t as Sunderland made it 2-2 with a few minutes left. I flung on Armstrong and Ferreyra and went three up front and the former scored with a quite brilliant goal, strange as he mostly s**t in fifa (in the low 60's I believe).

s**t. I think it was Riviere playing just behind Cisse - he's fast but his touch is atrocious. It wasn't De Jong as I was trying to be somewhat accurate.

In the reverse fixture I won 3-1, Tiote scoring twice, with Sammy playing a blinder at left-back, albeit missing a one-on-one. Fingers crossed life imitates art eh lads?

I'll go with FIFA, anything is worth a try. Seriously though, Aarons has to start. I'd start him for England tonight to be honest. He is the best player in the world already.

Take your pick, but I'm guessing he'll be on the....let me think.....ah, ok......the SPURS bench by April.

Feel free to put your own selection of team who would spunk £15m + for him in Jan. Mike will be delighted to finally see his youth investment come good.

Liverpool all the way. They'll have their very own reggae boys with him and Sterling.
