Good luck to him. We got him after he had passed his peak, but I felt that he got a lot of unwarranted stick. He wasn't the goalscorer we were all hoping for (and that the club paid so much for), but he worked hard and made intelligent runs. He did everything you could ask from a striker except score bucketloads of goals - admittedly, that's not an insignificant factor - and stay fit. The latter was hardly his fault.
When he wasn't injured, he had a good partnership with Zamora, he was more of the assistant than the scorer, but they didn't play that often together because most of the time one of them was injured.

Agreed, Capt. I never thought he deserved all the criticism he received; same thing with BZ. I remember doing the math a few years ago when people were b#%$%$ about his output; the bottom line was that minute for minute, AJ got more goals for us than any player since McBride. And you never saw AJ give less than his all, in contrast to my namesake, who'd switch off for large parts of non-competitive games. So best of luck to AJ. I hope he gets a dozen goals before CP are relegated.

Whether or not he was here long enough to be a Fulham legend, his career as a whole warrants the label. When Greece won the Euros, he played a part in one of the biggest upsets of modern international football. It's a shame we couldn't have squeezed another season out of him, particularly after the less-than-subtle hints he dropped once Magath left. And whether he's a Fulham legend or not, I suspect he'll always be fondly remembered and welcomed back at the Cottage when he drops in. Quite right too.
Yeah, Captain gets me. He won't be mentioned in the same breath as Johnny Haynes and the like (nor should he, I hasten to add), more of a cult figure in my opinion. He was definitely the sort of player his fans loved, but the opposition's fans hated. To have so much drive and enthusiasm at that age is something to admire.
