Valley - I really don't want to fall out with you but FYI (in the spirit of the forum abbreviations are allowed even for me) you know nothing about me so don't assume the level of my qualifications. I actually have two degrees and a professional qualification too. Seven years of university study. I have two kids in their twenties who are both degreed. That doesn't make me a better person than anyone else but I think I'm more than qualified to give an opinion on educational standards without being head of OFSTED as you rather sarcastically recommended. As you say it's a forum and I'm entitled to an opinion even if others don't like it.

I didn't speculate at all, Valley. We can all come to our own conclusions based on evidence. But I simply said that these sort of things are learned in school. That doesn't mean I'm questioning anyone - it's just a matter of lack of effort for some people. As you keep saying it's a forum and we're entitled to an opinion. Respect mine please - or at least my right to hold it. Bad grammar and punctuation is a bugbear and I don't apologise for it even though it's "just a forum". I respect the fact it doesn't bother others and good luck to them.
