We wont get buried if we lose we would have lost a match against the favorites for the title. buried gives the impression we are rubbish....
Not necessarily Dai it would just show how much better Chelsea are. In fairness they put 6 past Everton away and although they only scored 2 against Leicester at home they did have more than 20 shots on target and on any other day that scoreline would have been a lot worse. Dont get me wrong I am not comparing us with either of those teams I just think Chelsea might just run away with the league this season and could well prove to be streets ahead of everyone else which will have no bearing on how good/bad we are.
Wtf is wrong with some people on here? I simply stated (some would say accurately) that if we play our normal game we may get buried and we'd be better off playing more defensively. That doesn't mean I am saying we are rubbish, nor does it even hint at that. Jeez.
Why am I not surprised? Oh, and learn how to use capitals and apostrophes - pretty basic stuff really.
As much as i want Fernandez to play this game I don't think Monk can drop Amat. In 3 games hes played in a defence that has only conceded one goal. If he drops his now then what kind of message does that give out to the rest of the team? 'No matter how well you play, the more expensive players get in first'. Kinda sounds like our whole situation with Hodgson & England doesn't it. For me Amat will play this game. We will likely concede a few goals, then Monk will make the change for the game after. It's the only way that makes sense.
Mate, you are coming across as very pompous there. Not all of us are as lucky as you to have had a good education that you have obviously had. Nevertheless, we are still entitled to our opinions, even if our educational standards clearly don't come up to your high ones.
It's only a forum, so he doesn't have to. Besides, there's a thread discussing this. Also why are you surprised he disagrees? Isn't that what a forum is for?
I'll have to make a note of this tactic - if you can't win the debate, change topic and discuss grammar instead.
Now, now Dai, please don't upset dragonborn by missing the "?" from the end of your sentence. Consider this a warning! LOL.
Costa may now be fit to play. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/diego-costa-injury-not-serious-despite-spain-withdrawal-1464389?
A less than healthy Costa starting works just as well for us , pretty sure he will be saved for the mid week CL game if he plays at all the next 10 days
He was less than healthy against Everton (already carrying a niggle with his hamstring) didnt seem to play too badly then.
Chelsea have some interesting choices to make. Players will be returning from international duty - tired perhaps from the travel. They will be mindful of the teams they put out against their CL opponents in mid-week followed by their away match with Man City on the Sunday. Will Mourinho think that he can go light on us while saving his big dogs for the "bigger" matches. This could be the best time to play Chelsea.
Sorry guys - didn't mean to cause offence to anyone but basic English grammar and punctuation isn't hard to master if you've been to primary school. Sadly, forums like this tell me that teaching standards have gone through the floor over the last few decades. Yes, Valley I'm aware you're a teacher so it's no surprise you don't see an issue with it. Anyone who posts line after line of text without capitals or punctuation either doesn't understand basic English or simply can't be bothered to put a little effort in. Doesn't bother some and I get that but irritates the **** out of me and as I'm told it's a forum I'm entitled to say so. The ultimate point though is that apparently by saying that if we play our normal, open game we'll be buried by Chelsea I'm also saying we're "rubbish". I wasn't, of course, saying anything of the sort, and find it hard to see how anyone can come to that conclusion. I think some people are just looking for signs of "disloyalty" where there aren't any. It's been noticed on this forum lately. Anyway, I was talking with my son earlier and he had a dream we lost 6-0. I can't see that but if we get anything at all it'll be a fantastic result in my view.
Why is that, you don't get a sports forum PhD if you spell correctly on a public forum. i too cant be arsed sometimes to put in capital letters or apostrophes etc in the correct areas, and just because there are some who don't do this, doesn't suggest to me at all that they are educated to a lesser standard If you also think that teaching standards have fallen through the floor in recent decades, I challenge you to get the appropriate qualifications and become head of ESTYN or OFSTED and make the appropriate adjustments.
I hate international breaks and looking at other clubs forums i would say the majority of fans hate it too. It's a time that clubs and fans are on edge that their players come back injury free especially if you have had a good start like we have. Ki has impressed me saying he has a long 10 hour flight and he will use that to get much needed rest as he wants to be fresh and ready to play for the swans V Chelsea a couple of days later. what a great attitude by Ki....
