A magisterial drive from Lewis; very happy for Massa; Ricciardo is truly mercurial and an excellent recovery from the indefatigable Bottas. So many great and exciting drives today - what a race!
Crofty has just signed up so he can spurge his load in the Hamelot thread. Was a really good drive. Silly mistakes from Rosberg.
I still can't shake the feeling that Nico's mistake was deliberate, Toto's reaction afterwards seemed a bit of a giveaway, you think he'd be annoyed with a driver outbraking himself. Anyway, good driver by both men, but both were overshadowed by Ricciardo. The fact is that he managed to minimise the damage in the points this weekend, and with the next few races suiting the Red Bull, and the double points race still to come, he's firmly in this championship battle.
Sorry to be obtuse, why would Nico do it deliberately? Conspiracy theory too far. For me, another example of Rosberg feeling the pressure.
Totos smile when Nico lost place was like a releif (yeah he did it). Surely not deliberate. I am 90% sure it wasn't. Hamilton outdrove Nico. Nico cracked. Easily done.
I'm going to take a ballsy risk and say Ricciardo. A driver winning the title in a massively inferior car has happened a few times before (Rosberg in 82, Prost in 86, Schumacher in 03, Alonso in 05), and the Red Bull has definitely gained some ground.
Maybe Nico just doesn't want to be overtaken on track. haha. We all just have to remember the WDC is not won in one race.
He's barely felt pressure all season, why would he crack now, especially as i believe he was told that Hamilton was told to drop back and maintain the gap? Probably reading too much into it, all i've really got to go on is Toto's unusual reaction to it, maybe Mercedes just favour Lewis after Nico's little stunt in Belgium and Toto was happy that there wouldn't be any drama this team. Nico didn't seem too bothered post race, so it's just my slightly paranoid mind (that's what the internet does to you)
Who seems to be cracking now? Everyone was saying Hamilton is weaker mentally than Rosberg but the mistakes Rosberg made under pressure says differently. I think if I had to go into a race with either Rosberg or Hamilton I am sure Hamilton would be my bet. Hamilton was so much quicker than Rosberg today and I am sure he would have won the last race if he wasn't knocked out by his teammate. On another note..Ricciardo.... That guy is magic!
