The whole yes campaign seems to be based on wishes and the pixie dust from fairies farts!

Oh, yes... UK will enter a currency union with Scotland. Why the hell would the UK do that- it would no longer be in our best interest. The pound would centre around UK finances, not the Scottish. Scotland would have to deal with a currency that isn't based around doing what's best for the UK as a whole anymore- a dangerous plan for Scotland.

Scotland will be in the EU- despite Spain and others saying no.

Scotland will be in the EU and keep the £... despite Europe Universally saying no.

Scotland will get all the oil (that the UK paid for the infrastructure for).

There will be open borders between Scotland and England! Why on earth would that be tolerated- especially since you're planning on disbanding navy and military- why would England want to allow people over the border unchecked from a unsecured neighbour.

It's all wishful thinking and naivity. There is no substance to the Yes campaign other than wishful thinking. A train wreck fueled purely by fairy farts!

This is purely my opinion. I believe that the Scottish independence movement have a dream of this socialist utopia - a land of milk and honey, away from English dominance.

I fear the reality will be a horrible, too late, wake-up call!

I pretty much agree with you Chirpy, but I have to hope that at some time in the British Isles a breakthrough will be made. Scotland and it's people are the most likely IMO to be able to make this breakthrough.

All I can say to you is, do you always swallow everything the establishemnt tells you? Anybody that wants to can find the true position on all these subjects through the internet. The only fairey farts here are the ones the establishment puffs in the direction of forlock pulling peasants who think they are doing ok.

I hope you are a large landowner or very wealthy otherwise your position is rather foolish.

Now we see the true face of the establishment, desperate to keep Scotland yet all through this campaign they have just tried to rubbish Scotland. Now finally when things in their polls start to look dodgy they talk about how this will effect the UK. Their campaign of lies and smears is failing so now they thrash around for a bribe to keep this country that is useless that they have to subsidise on board.

    Strange really.

Lol a cracking summer in Scotland. Spurf spends most his time in Cyprus so that would explain why he thinks we had a cracking summer.

Anyway two weeks left and once a no vote is declared we can put this silly idea of independence behind us and focus on being a strong, United Kingdom. Together as one and Scotland needs the guidance of England to flourish so in the end it will work out for the best.

There is a whole media full of anti Independence stuff NSIS. This is typical of the whole campaign from Better Together.

Of course he is pissed of he is losing the argument. Most of the NO people I have met are pissed off. Their bubble is being pushed and they don't like it.

I met one the other day this well dressd lady from her big house. Oh! You are so stupid you nationalists, she was livid that her world was being rocked. It was clear that she had not argument other than; Of course we should stay with the Union and our Queen. A similar argument to the one you hear from the Orange Lodge. We don't want to lose our Union Jack and our Queen. They are planning a large march in Edinburgh a couple of days before the vote. Thousands of mindless people with their pipe and drums oh and their Union.

That should swing it for YES. <laugh>

I assume the world would give Scotland a period of time to sort out its status before giving them
a nation 'trust' ranking. Joining the EU would make them a 'boundary' nation, which under the Schengen
agreement would mean they have to establish very strong border controls with UKminus (who will do the
same by default - new Hadrians' wall anyone ?? :D) .

We must be reading different articles. The one I'm reading seems to show that a concerned head of the Scottish fishing industry is asking for answers to perfectly valid issues regarding independence. Questions that Salmond seems extremely reluctant to answer. Instead attempting to belittle and shout the man down. As Armstrong said, it was nothing more than an intended rally for the Yes campaign, not very cunningly disguised as a question and answer session.

Nowhere can I see Armstrong say that he is pro or anti independence.

Because I have read the background and other reports of the same incident and you have read the Telegraph. It is far easier for me in Scotland to get a wider view than it is for you in Spain.

Different perspectives NSIS. This campaign has shown more than any other the bias of the media and of course the internet makes it possible to see through this stuff.

Salmond is a highly respected First Minister who most accept has done an excellent job for Scotland, but if you were to belive the media he is second only to the devil. This is pretty standard media stuff. It appears however that we are about to see a big change as the furious MUrdoch sticks his oar in to our politics once again. Murdoch is of course furious about his treatment at Westminster over the News of the World and it looks like he is out for revenge by backing the YES vote in the Sun and the Sunday Times. I will never back Murdoch even though he is now backing my side but it does look as though Better Together are about to get a taste of their own medicine.
